'Religious Charities' Put on Usual Refugee Lobbying Day on Capitol Hill

Although the story makes it sound like the refugee industry has brought refugees to put on display in Washington as a response to the Trump Administration refugee slowdown, in reality they do this lobbying PR event every year no matter who is in the White House.

refugee lobbying
Refugees put on display, meet the press in Washington last week.

The lobbying initiative brings in (probably at your expense since these agencies are largely taxpayer-funded) refugees who exemplify the best of the recent crop of Africans, Asians and Middle Easterners to help persuade Congress to fund even more refugees in the coming fiscal year.
Needless to say there is NEVER any counter effort at this time by immigration restriction groups who might get around the Hill with information about the cost of the program and to put out a few horror stories about refugees who came here fraudulently and became crooks and criminals.
And, NO ONE ever mentions that the religious charities are largely federally funded and dependent on a large and regular supply of ‘new Americans’ to pay their salaries and their office overhead (so they can promote their Open Borders political agenda).

Here is the news from a Catholic publication,

In Washington, refugees from around U.S. lobby for federal program

The U.S. Refugee Admissions Program is one of the best of humanitarian efforts helping vulnerable people in the world and it should be praised as a success story, not diminished, said a former Iraqi refugee to the U.S., who joined many others in Washington in early May lobbying lawmakers to increase the number of refugees admitted to the country each year.

Refugee advocacy organizations, such as the faith-based Church World Service and the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Migration and Refugee Services, facilitated the May 8 press event where men and women who were resettled to the U.S. spoke of the hardships that forced them to leave their native lands and the welcome they received in their new communities.

Boise Refugee wants to get into politics as his contribution to America…

Tecle Gebremicheal, originally from Somalia, spoke of being sent through the refugee program to Boise, Idaho, a place he’d never heard of, but a city he now calls home, where he has been able to obtain his U.S. citizenship, go to college, and where he eventually wants to run for city council.

You are paying a large portion of Smyers salary.

The lobbying efforts in May were aimed at getting that message across to Congress. That’s because under the Trump administration, refugee resettlement numbers are at an all-time low, said Jen Smyers, director of policy and advocacy for Church World Service.
“Last year, we saw the refugee resettlement goals at 45,000, which, at the time was the lowest refugee admissions goal we’ve ever had in this country since the 1980 Refugee Act was passed unanimously by Congress,” said Smyers. “The administration didn’t even meet half that goal last year and only admitted 22,000. They have now set another low of 30,000 and they are not on track to meet that goal.”

“The advocacy days on Capitol Hill are very powerful for both our lawmakers and our refugee leaders who are sharing their stories,” said Bill Canny, executive director of MRS. “While our organizations do everything we can throughout the years to share the stories of our refugee leaders, the staff on the hill and the members of Congress walk away with a different feeling after listening to the stories from those who lived them.”  [You pay Canny’s salary too—-ed]

Stories, stories, stories!  They do love stories.
I do too and that’s why I launched Frauds, Crooks and Criminals back in January to balance the news, see here.
This post is filed in my ‘Charity Fraud’ category because when your ‘religious charity’ is largely funded by the feds, it is no longer a charity, it is theft!

  1. Isn’t it odd how there are almost no White “refugees” helped by these groups? What about the White South Africans or White Zimbabweans who are being slaughtered daily? smh

    1. Exactly! And do you know we take black refugees from South Africa—ones that SA (the Rainbow nation) doesn’t want!
