US Taxpayers Funding Grants to Islamic Charities, Including CAIR

Editor: As you might guess, I am completely swamped with e-mails to both of my blog addresses and sometimes as much as I want to, I can’t always get to them.  Last night I noticed a whole slew of notices from readers about stories that are worth posting, but I missed them.  So sorry about that.

I would like to ask those of you who send me 5, 10, or more e-mails a day on every conservative issue under the sun to be more discriminating and select for me stories related to what I generally write about here at ‘Frauds and Crooks’ or at RRW. That would make my life easier and I could more readily notice e-mails from individuals with news tips.

Thanks to reader Aileen for directing my attention to this bit of news from Judicial Watch.

Two days ago I told readers at RRW about the billions we (American taxpayers) had been sending to non-profit Christian social justice organizations operating in Central America.  The Trump Admin is now cutting those back.

However, it seems we are giving millions away to Islamic ‘charities’ too.

U.S. Funding of Islamist “Charity” Groups Triples Under Trump

https://www.meforum.org/

The amount of American taxpayer dollars that go to Islamist organizations has drastically increased under the Trump administration, which has doled out millions to radical nonprofits, including a recent allocation to a terrorist front group named as an unindicted co-conspirator in a terrorism financing trial. Between 2017 and 2018 the U.S. government more than tripled its funding to organizations either influenced or controlled by Islamist activists from $4 million to $13.5 million, according to an analysis conducted by a think tank dedicated to protecting Western values from Middle Eastern threats.

The Philadelphia-based nonprofit, Middle East Forum (MEF), reviewed millions of dollars in government grant data and found that the Trump administration is dedicating a lot more to radical Muslim groups than the Obama administration….

By the way, whatever happened to taxpayer organizations that were formed to protect us?

Why are taxpayers forced to pay for non-profit groups of any sort, let alone those that are involved in questionable activities or those promoting open borders?  Let those who support these groups put their own personal money where their mouth is!

What you can do!

If you are interested in investigating whether some questionable NGO is getting federal grant money, I told readers in ‘Knowledge is Power V’ at RRW just how to use USASpending.gov which is where I suspect the ME Forum got its data.

Number of Victims of Texas Kenyan Killer Reaches 22, Additional Lawsuits Filed

“We made an assumption that it was safe. These ladies, these widows are the most vulnerable part of society. I feel like they were sitting ducks.”

(Cliff Harris, former Dallas Cowboy and son-in-law of one of the latest victims to be identified)

This is an update of my posts that extend back to May of last year when Kenyan Billy Chemirmir was arrested and charged with the murders of 12 vulnerable senior women mostly living in upscale retirement facilities in and around Dallas.

The number of victims is now at 22, and could still rise higher.

***Update*** Daniel Horowitz at Conservative Review does a deeper look into the fact that Chemirmir should never have been in the country and our sanctuary mentality is responsible for the deaths of these women just as much as Chemirmir is!

Alleged serial killer, Billy Chemirmir, is said to have arrived in the US two decades ago, overstayed a visa, and remained here after marrying an American. I have never seen any definitive information on his immigration status, but he had run-ins with the law and should have been removed from the country. https://www.standardmedia.co.ke/ureport/article/2001274445/kenyan-family-shocked-over-reports-that-their-son-killed-an-81-year-old-at-a-texas-elderly-home

Most of the women were allegedly smothered with a pillow apparently for their jewelry and other valuables.  The killing spree went on for years before the police unraveled the case and then only because one woman survived and was able to give a description of the African man who tried to kill her.

Charles Scudder, a reporter at the Dallas Morning News has been doing work that deserves a Pulitzer Prize for his dogged investigative work on a case that you know the mainstream media is failing to notice.

Here is Scudder’s latest report on two new deaths now linked to the Kenyan Killer.

This story should be on national news!  Where is CNN, MSNBC and Fox News?

New suits in Billy Chemirmir case identify two more alleged victims, offer new details

Two days before she died in March 2018, Miriam Nelson told staff at her Plano senior living complex that an intruder had been in her apartment.

Now, after police and prosecutors say she was smothered by serial murder suspect Billy Chemirmir, her family says that the complex where Nelson lived — Preston Place Retirement Community — should have done more to protect her.

Lawsuits filed in the 4th County Court at Law in Dallas on Tuesday by three families, including Nelson’s, detail what one of their attorneys, Trey Crawford, says is a pattern of “woefully deficient security measures” at Preston Place. The suits also provide greater insight into Chemirmir’s alleged actions as he visited North Texas senior living homes.

The suits list two new alleged victims who were not publicly linked to Chemirmir previously. One, who was not named in the suits, died Dec. 10, 2017, the documents state. The other is 93-year-old Mamie Dell Miya, who died Dec. 8, 2017.

Chemirmir has not been indicted in either death, but the suits include Plano police reports that state Miya’s death is a suspected capital murder case.

Miriam Nelson was the mother-in-law of former Dallas Cowboys Hall of Famer Cliff Harris.

Chemirmir is accused of murdering nearly two dozen elderly people, mostly women, throughout North Texas. Seven of the alleged slayings occurred at Preston Place.

In all, that makes 22 deaths that have been publicly linked to Chemirmir. It could make him one of Texas’ most prolific serial killers.

Among the family members wanting improved security at Preston Place and other senior living facilities is former Dallas Cowboys safety and 2020 Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee Cliff Harris, whose mother-in-law was Miriam Nelson.

According to the suits filed Tuesday, the daughter of another resident posted fliers warning residents about the intruder a few days after Nelson’s body was found. The flier noted that Preston Place had no black male maintenance employees and said that residents should call police if such a stranger came to their doors.

The suit claims that Preston Place management removed the fliers the next day.

“We made an assumption that it was safe,” Harris told The Dallas Morning News on Tuesday. “These ladies, these widows are the most vulnerable part of society. I feel like they were sitting ducks.

There is much more, read it all and forward to your social media lists.

I repeat! This story should be on national news!  Where is CNN, MSNBC and Fox News?

Please visit my December post where I told you about how some of the daughters of the Kenyan Killer’s victims have joined together to take action in hopes of avoiding the same dreadful fate that befell their mothers.

Arizona: Feds Arrest Iraqi Wanted for Killing Police Officers in Iraq

Update February 7th:  Daniel Greenfield at Frontpage magazine has a detailed account of how the alleged terrorist got into the US.

My first thought on seeing this story (thanks to reader ‘meanymom’) was—if he is a refugee, as some say, what happened to the “robust” vetting we have been promised.

Here is one version of the story from ABC-15 Arizona.  I have to laugh because they make the man described in the Dept. of Justice press release from last Friday, sound like such a (“nonreligious”) sweetheart!

Accused Al-Qaeda terrorist, Ali Yousif Ahmed Al-Nouri, was a well-known driving instructor in Phoenix

PHOENIX — Members of the Phoenix Iraqi community say they are shocked to hear that a local driving instructor has been arrested for his alleged ties to Al-Qaeda.

According to his friend Algarawi, Ahmed wasn’t religious.

According to the United States Department of Justice, Ali Yousif Ahmed Al-Nouri was arrested in the Phoenix area Thursday. He is accused of murdering two Iraqi police officers in 2006.

The 42-year-old went by Ali Ahmed, and friends tell ABC15 he was well-liked in the community.

“Very nice person, we are very shocked with this news,” said Jabir Algarawi.

Algarawi said Ahmed came to Phoenix as a refugee in 2008. He said Ahmed told him he’d been shot several times in Iraq.

“He’d tell us he was against the extremists and he got shots multiple times in his body,” said Algarawi.

[….]

According to federal documents, Ahmed and other members of the Al-Qaeda group allegedly shot and killed the first lieutenant in the Fallujah Police Directorate and a police officer in the Fallujah Police Directorate in June 2006 and October 2006. Documents show the Iraqi government has witnesses.

By the way, I’m getting first hand stories about refugees who entered the US fraudulently, or have witnessed such fraud, and I’m trying to figure out how to report it.

Unlicensed NJ ‘New American’ Docs Busted for Bilking Insurance Companies

Editor:  Sorry I am behind in posting here at ‘Frauds and Crooks’.  That is because Refugee Resettlement Watch has been taking so much of my time in recent days and weeks.

Here is a quick story from New Jersey.

From the Daily Record:

Unlicensed doctor who treated patients in Morris, Warren pleads guilty

A Long Valley doctor with offices in Morris and Warren counties pleaded guilty on Wednesday to bilking millions of dollars from insurance companies for unlicensed medical care.

How would you like to get medical treatment from this guy, Paramjit Singh?

Parminderjeet S. Sandhu, 66, of Long Valley, and Paramjit Singh, 62, of Ohio, each pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Peter G. Sheridan in Trenton federal court to charges of conspiracy to commit health care fraud.

In 2017, U.S. Attorney Craig Carpenito filed the charges and said Sandhu, who was licensed to practice in New Jersey, knew Singh’s medical license was suspended, yet still allowed him to care for patients in the three locations he owned and operated under the name Medical Care Associates Family Practice and Urgent Care.

[….]

Records show that from August 2014 through October 2017, Sandhu and Singh billed $2.2 million to Medicare and private health insurance companies for medical services they claimed were provided by Sandhu, but were actually performed by Singh.

Nigerian ‘Expert’ Questioned about his Thesis that Brain Damage in Contact Sports is Widespread

As many of you are looking forward to a favorite social event of the year—the Super Bowl—the Washington Post of all places published a long and detailed investigation into the man, a Nigerian doctor, who claims to be the father of what he describes as a massive medical crisis—CTE (chronic traumatic encephalopathy).

Reader Cristina sent this story because she knows of ‘Frauds and Crooks’ interest in Nigerian fraudsters and criminals.  I’m not saying his work is completely baseless, but it is interesting to see that the Washington Post is dancing around that theme.

Anyone raising kids involved in sports these days is thinking about this subject, so read it all.  I’ve only snipped the opening paragraphs:

From scientist
to salesman

How Bennet Omalu, doctor of ‘Concussion’
fame, built a career on distorted science

In 2017, Bennet Omalu traveled the globe to accept a series of honors and promote his autobiography, “Truth Doesn’t Have A Side.”

In 2016, Dr. Omalu hypothesized that Hillary had been poisoned and that is what caused her to stumble as she left the World Trade Center site. https://slate.com/technology/2016/09/dr-bennet-omalu-suspects-hillary-clinton-was-poisoned-why.html

In a visit to an Irish medical school, he told students he was a “nobody” who “discovered a disease in America’s most popular sport.”

In an appearance on a religious cable TV show, he said he named the disease chronic traumatic encephalopathy, or CTE, because “it sounded intellectually sophisticated, with a very good acronym.”

And since his discovery, Omalu told Sports Illustrated, researchers have uncovered evidence that shows adolescents who participate in football, hockey, wrestling and mixed martial arts are more likely to drop out of school, become addicted to drugs, struggle with mental illness, commit violent crimes and kill themselves.

A Nigerian American pathologist portrayed by Will Smith in the 2015 film, “Concussion,” Omalu is partly responsible for the most important sports story of the 21st century. Since 2005, when Omalu first reported finding widespread brain damage in a former NFL player, concerns about CTE have inspired a global revolution in concussion safety and fueled an ongoing existential crisis for America’s most popular sport. Omalu’s discovery — initially ignored and then attacked by NFL-allied doctors — inspired an avalanche of scientific research that forced the league to acknowledge a link between football and brain disease.

Nearly 15 years later, Omalu has withdrawn from the CTE research community and remade himself as an evangelist, traveling the world selling his frightening version of what scientists know about CTE and contact sports. In paid speaking engagements, expert witness testimony and in several books he has authored, Omalu portrays CTE as an epidemic and himself as a crusader, fighting against not just the NFL but also the medical science community, which he claims is too corrupted to acknowledge clear-cut evidence that contact sports destroy lives.

After more than a decade of intensive research by scientists from around the globe, the state of scientific knowledge of CTE remains one of uncertainty. Among CTE experts, many important aspects of the disease — from what symptoms it causes, to how prevalent or rare it is — remain the subject of research and debate.

But across the brain science community, there is wide consensus on one thing: Omalu, the man considered by many the public face of CTE research, routinely exaggerates his accomplishments and dramatically overstates the known risks of CTE and contact sports, fueling misconceptions about the disease, according to interviews with more than 50 experts in neurodegenerative disease and brain injuries, and a review of more than 100 papers from peer-reviewed medical journals.

Omalu did not discover CTE, nor did he name the disease. The alarming statistics he recites about contact sports are distorted, according to the author of the studies that produced those figures. And while Omalu cultivates a reputation as the global authority on CTE, it’s unclear whether he is diagnosing it correctly, according to several experts on the disease.

Read more here, apparently the jury is out, but if you have young athletes at home, definitely read it all.

See today at RRW that the President has added Nigeria to the list of countries facing travel restrictions to the US.
