She says she is concerned that the criminal Somalis being deported will take the Chinese Virus with them to Somalia!
Is she representing Somalia or America?
BTW, when I first started writing about Somali refugee criminals and terrorists, the US was not deporting any of them claiming it was not humane to send migrants home to hellhole countries. My! My! how times have changed!
ICE deportation flight, objected to by Omar over COVID fears, included convicted murderer, rapist
Omar had said it was ‘cruel’ to deport immigrants during a pandemic
An Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) deportation flight to Somalia — which faced objections from Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., due to fears about the potential spread of COVID-19 — included criminals with convictions for rape, murder and assault, the agency said in a letter to the congresswoman.
“This week, ICE removed 39 Somalia nationals, 36 of whom have criminal histories,” Acting ICE Director Tony Pham said in a letter to Omar. “These crimes include murder, rape, domestic violence, assault, sexual assault, crimes against children, drug trafficking, and conspiracy to provide material support to a foreign terrorist organization.”
He also included a list of case backgrounds that he said “should give you reason to applaud the good work ICE has done to protect the American people, including the people of the State of Minnesota.”
Here is what ICE told her in a letter sent September 18th (sorry I couldn’t get a clearer pic):
Grants are “given to organizations that are advancing the cause of lasting change for our society.”
(Tyson press release, September 1, 2020)
If you have followed Refugee Resettlement Watch for the last decade you know that Tyson Foods is one of a handful of BIG MEAT companies with global reach that depends heavily on low-skilled migrant workers for a constantly overturning workforce.
And, while we are all focused on the election, the Chinese Virus and burning cities (as we should be!), pro-immigrant churches (the religious Left) and other non-profits are continuing their quiet work of changing America by changing the people.
For more than you ever wanted to know about Tyson Foods, go hereat RRW.
Immigrant Connection receives $1 million corporate donation
Tyson Foods announced on September 1 that Immigrant Connection (IC), a nonprofit affiliated with The Wesleyan Church, was one of five organizations “advancing the cause of lasting change for our society” awarded $1 million. The Equal Justice Initiative, The Executive Leadership Council, The National Urban League and The Smithsonian were the other four. IC was the only organization voted a recipient by Tyson Food team members.
“Apart from God, this is utterly unimaginable,” said Immigrant Connection Director Rev. Zach Szmara. “To even be in the same conversation as organizations like The National Urban League, The Executive Leadership Council, The Smithsonian and The Equal Justice Initiative is a witness to two profound truths I have learned — God has favorites, and immigrants are one of his ‘favorite four’ (the poor, the widow, the orphan and the foreigner living among us).
God absolutely loves seeing the marginalized lifted up in counter-cultural ways so he receives all the glory that he is due.”
An employee at Tyson Foods, which has a plant in Logansport, Indiana, where Szmara also pastors The Bridge Church [see photo above about the plant closure there—ed], relayed to Szmara that he has “never encountered anything like Immigrant Connection” — that IC is doing important work that is needed and is making a difference.
Twenty-one IC sites have been launched in Wesleyan churches within the U.S. since its inception in 2014. Two new locations are pending approval as IC sites with the U.S. Department of Justice.***
More than 8,000 immigrants from over 125 countries have been assisted through IC which has become the largest Protestant church-based immigrant legal aid organization in the United States.
***I did not know what this was about: “approval” from the DOJ? So I looked around and found that the US Department of Justice has an entire branch that helps immigrants connect with legal services, see here. I suspect there is federal grant money involved as well.
I have to admit that until his now infamous tweet on Friday evening in the wake of the death of Supreme Court Justice Ginsburg, the name Reza Aslan was not in the forefront of my mind.
It should have been because he is also the author of another infamous tweet (I think we have all heard these words): “Have you ever seen a more punchable face than this kid’s?”referring to teenager Nick Sandmann.
Iranian ‘refugee’ Reza Aslan has now topped that with a tweet demonstrating that his Islam-is-peaceful shtick is just that—a pathetic performance.
Bruce Bawer writing at American Greatnesstells us all we need to know about a man America saved from possible death in Iran who now spews his hatefulness toward the President, indeed toward America because we presume he means what he says—burn it all down.
He might as well be saying ‘death to America.’ (I wonder if the FBI stopped by his home to ask him what exactly he means by that?)
No one who was familiar with Aslan’s writings should have been terribly surprised by his Friday night tweet, which some would justifiably describe as an explicit threat of physical violence.
Apparently, it was the author’s most attention-getting tweet since January 19, 2019, when—in the wake of the instantly famous encounter at the Lincoln Memorial involving a group of polite MAGA cap-wearing boys from Covington High School in Kentucky, a drum-banging Native American provocateur named Nathan Phillips, and a trash-talking gang of Black Hebrew Israelites—the selfsame author posted the now-iconic picture of one of the boys, Nick Sandmann, standing calmly in the face of Phillips’ provocation, and wrote:
“Have you ever seen a more punchable face than this kid’s?”
The author in question was Reza Aslan, who, when he himself was a kid, fled the Iranian Revolution with his parents for the United States, where he grew up in the Bay Area. He went on to collect a B.A. in religious studies from Santa Clara University, an M.A. in theological studies from Harvard, an MFA in fiction writing from the University of Iowa, and a Ph.D. in sociology from UC Santa Barbara. His first book, No god but God (2005), whitewashed Islam and blamed Islamic terror on Western imperialism; the predictable plaudits in such left-wing organs as the New York Times, New York Review of Books, Los Angeles Times, and Financial Times made it a “worldwide success” (The Guardian) and launched his career as a “multimedia force” (L.A. Review of Books).
“We are one 911-style terror attack from the end of America!”
In addition to his books, Aslan has served as a consultant on Islam for various media projects. He hosted a short-lived CNN religion series, “Believer,” on which, in one memorable episode, he ate part of a human brain. He’s sat on the board of the National Iranian American Council, which lobbies for the Mullahs in Iran, and he’s given talks under the auspices of groups linked to Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood. In several articles over the years, the indispensable Robert Spencer has documented Aslan’s chronic dishonesty about a wide range of topics, from Islam and Christianity to his own academic credentials.
[….]
Presentable in appearance, measured in tone, he packaged himself at once as a standard-issue left-winger and as an authentic believer in an orthodox yet somehow “modern” Islam. Like the now-disgraced Tariq Ramadan, he was a “bridge-builder,” thoroughly assimilated into Western civilization, who sought nothing more than to educate Westerners about the beautiful beliefs and traditions of his faith—and thereby dispel the ugly suspicions that flow from ignorance.
What repeatedly has gotten in the way of Aslan’s own attempt to maintain this image of serenity and equanimity, however, is his own poisonous hatefulness, which frequently gets the better of him. This phenomenon is not unique to Aslan. It can be observed in the cases of many Muslim public figures in North America and Europe who try to project a calming, moderate profile but who, in certain circumstances—for example, when strongly contradicted—can let the mask slip and sound, suddenly, like nothing so much as a firebrand imam calling for someone’s head.

Naval Academy Midshipman Convicted of Three Sex Crimes, Sentenced to 25 Years in Prison
A midshipman at the U.S Naval Academy was sentenced on two counts of sexual assault, attempted sexual assault, burglary and obstruction of justice Wednesday, crimes that occurred in 2018 and 2019 and which targeted female classmates at the Naval Academy.
Midshipman Nixon Keago was sentenced to 25 years confinement, which will likely be served within the federal prison system.
[….]
A psychologist who testified in the trial proceedings emphasized that she believes Keago has a “low rehabilitation potential.”The midshipman was convicted of one attempted home invasion sexual assault after being initially charged with sex crimes, suggesting a psychological propensity to commit the crimes.
[….]
Prosecutors convicted Keago of breaking into the rooms of three female midshipmen who were intoxicated, and sexually assaulting them when they were asleep. He attempted the same crime against a third victim.
Keago recounted during the trial immigrating to the United States from Kenya as a child. He previously served as an enlisted US Marine before being admitted to the Naval Academy.
BTW, we will likely never know how he got here from Kenya as a child placed with an adoptive family. Was the family Kenyan too? I’m curious, but not curious enough to spend time searching, so if you find something let me know!
I know, I know, it isn’t kosher to speak ill of the dead, but really, can we now stop gushing over Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg?
I began paying a little attention to her while writing many posts at Refugee Resettlement Watchabout the hellhole that South Africa has become since Nelson Mandela and his ilk took over the country and turned it into a supposed Nirvana, claiming it is now the “rainbow nation” where love and peace reign and fairness for all is written in their constitution.
(If you haven’t seen my archive on the “rainbow nation” click here.)
Have alook at that constitution (it says everyone has a right to everything!) and you will see why Africans from across that continent flooded there only to experience xenophobia on a level greater than any country in the world.
Ginsburg reportedly praised that commie constitution over the US Constitution, although her fan base claimed her comments were taken out of context. See Foreign Policy for one version of the 2012 controversy.
One writer who isn’t sending air kisses to Ginsburg is Frank Miele opining at Heartland Diary(hat tip: Paul):
RBG has a remarkable legacy — but so do Lenin and Mao. Please stop praising her if you are a conservative!
Democrats are accusing Republicans of being hypocritical, and they are, but not because they want to vote to replace Ruth Bader Ginsburg during an election year.
The real reason they are hypocritical is because they don’t have the cojones to call Ginsburg what she was — a hard-left Democrat extremist who was only interested in using her position on the Supreme Court to fundamentally transform the United States into a politically correct, disarmed socialist republic. Her support for a woman’s right to choose to kill her unborn child is partly responsible for the deaths of millions of babies.
How do Republican senators square that with their effusive praise of her? Simple. As I already said — hypocrisy. Can you imagine Democrats praising Donald Trump as the most significant president of the last 75 years (or more) when he dies? Hell no, because the Democrats know he was their sworn enemy. Republicans are too cowardly to tell the truth about Ginsburg.
A random sampling of the Republican praise for Ginsburg should prove the point:
Thank God we have Trump in the White House! Almost every other Republican you can think of (if he/she was President at this auspicious moment in history) would be tucking tail and running and attempting to show that they are good people by not pushing forward with a nominee for Ha! Ha! “Ginsburg’s seat!”
