That means pushing them hard to get through the naturalization process they say the Trump team is deliberately slowing.
And, at the same time, the Trump Dept. of Homeland Security announced it has reached a five-year high in citizenship approvals (of course that means higher than the final term of the Obama administration). If true then why is the National Partnership for New Americans squawking?
Where does the truth lie?
Heck, we don’t know, but the point is that the Leftwingers, the Dems, are working overtime (they know they are in a fight!) to try to get as many immigrants registered to vote in order to defeat the sitting President in 2020 (and to get more of their people in office everywhere).
It has never been clear to me why the Open Borders Republicans and Libertarians don’t see that they are politically done once a large enough number of socialism-loving immigrants are voting.

Special Immigrant Visa Holders Coming in by the Thousands from Afghanistan, but Iraqi Flow has Slowed
In my previous post we learned that an Iraqi refugee (from a Special Immigrant Visa holder family) has been arrested in New Hampshire for the murder of a man who was once his neighbor.
(Local news reports say that the alleged killer’s father was a driver for western and UN diplomats, so I am assuming they are an SIV family.)
The story reminded me that I wanted to fill you in about where we stand with admitting these ‘special refugees’ who supposedly once helped us in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Related posts lately include my number crunching for the regular refugee program and for the Unaccompanied alien children (teens!) program which can be found here and here.
The Special Immigrant Visa program is one more legal immigration program.
The number of SIVs from Iraq has dropped under the Trump Administration, but Afghanistan is another story.
The numbers coming in are huge!
Feds Provide Training for In-Home Day Care for Refugees
That headline is not exactly correct! You, the American taxpayers, pay for Day Care training so refugees who have been in the country for less than five years can have “culturally appropriate” child care, and get paid to stay home with their own kids and a few others.
I’ve written about this grant program provided by the federal Office of Refugee Resettlement over the years (see one 2015 story at RRW), but a story from Iowa (hat tip: Joanne) reminds me I should tell new readers about it especially in light of news I’ve posted here since January about how just this type of taxpayer-funded day care leads to fraud.
In one case, the day care provider paid other families to pretend to drop off kids and then the provider submitted for payment an inflated number of attendees.

Under Trump Administration Texas is the Number One State for Refugee Resettlement
That is really nothing new—the number one target for the Dems to flip—Texas—has been numero uno for a number of years.
Trump’s State Department is simply continuing the trend even in spite of the fact that the state is inundated with border jumpers including the unaccompanied alien teenagers.
I hadn’t checked numbers at the Refugee Processing Center for some time, so thought I would have a look, and thought you might be interested.

Diversity Visa Lottery takes Prize for Suckering US Citizens/American Workers
Do all of you know what the Diversity Visa Lottery is? Maybe you know it by its other name—the Green Card Lottery.
The Immigration Act of 1990, signed into law by George H.W. Bush, set up what I will call a monstrosity.
Supposedly we don’t have enough diversity in America and needed to open our welcoming arms to a larger variety of the world’s ethnic populations (and more workers to compete for American jobs)!
Here is what Wikipedia says about it,
The lottery is administered by the Department of State and conducted under the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA). It makes available 50,000 immigrant visas annually and aims to diversify the immigrant population in the United States, by selecting applicants from countries with low numbers of immigrants in the previous five years. As of 2017, around 20 million people apply for the lottery each year.
All efforts to kill the program have failed.
And, what drew my attention to it today (I did write about it from time to time at RRW) is this whiny report about how the recent “winners” couldn’t get on the State Department website earlier this week to find out if they had won a ticket to Anytown, USA.
