It was all over cable news a couple of days ago when someone opened fire on a massive house party in a pretty classy neighborhood in South Jersey. I grew up in a peaceful South Jersey so the story got my attention.
I wasn’t planning to write about it though until I saw that most media was not posting a picture of the first arrest in the case.

I’m seeing very few reports on the man charged with gun violations (so far) that resulted in the deaths of two and the wounding of scores of others.
Most reports are showing photos of the house and grounds with few using a jailhouse picture of Kevin Dawkins.
However, the UK Daily Maildoes not disappoint as it published a big spread on the shooting with lots of pictures, including photos of the victims.
In the US, NJ.com does publish a picture of Dawkins as NJ Democrat Governor Phil Murphy does a little politically correct speech about gun violence in a state with STRICT gun control laws already in place.
By the way, stories abound about gun violence across the country this past week. Someone should take a look behind the headlines to see who the perps were in those cases.
How many had already done time in the slammer? How many were in states with strict gun laws? How many were gang-related as this one may be? How many perps were African American and how many of their victims were African American?
Update! Reader Robin sent this useful but sad site with info. on those who died daily from gun violence. I think you will see a pattern and as you all know, it is not the gun.
Arrest made, more expected in mass shooting at N.J. house party that killed 2, officials say
One man has been charged with firearms violations in the shooting that killed two people and wounded 12 at a house party Saturday night in Fairfield Township, authorities announced Monday morning.
More arrests and charges in the case are expected, local and state authorities said at a Monday morning press event led by Gov. Phil Murphy.
Kevin K. Dawkins, 36, who lives on Commerce Street, the same street where the party took place, is charged with four gun crimes, one that accuses him of possessing a firearm as a convicted felon, Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae said.
“What we saw here in Fairfield is a microcosm of the scale of gun violence we see elsewhere, in other communities in our state and across our country,” Murphy said, leading off the press event. “We are at the point where this kind of horrific scene is almost part of our daily lives. It has become commonplace.”
“If there is one thing we can never normalize, it is senseless gun violence,” the governor said.
While his administration has enacted more and strong gun safety laws, and said New Jersey is a leader in the effort, Murphy said “but, and it’s a big but, this is a nation awash in guns, and we are not on an island. We are not immune as was proved two nights ago.”
Yup, too many guns says the Progressive governor.
“There are still too many people with easy access to guns who should never even have access to a gun,” Murphy said.
Do Black Lives Matter when the killers and their victims are black as they were in this case, just asking?
Have you noticed that for the Dems, when the PC racism narrative doesn’t fit, it becomes all about the guns.
See the data maintained by the federal Office of Refugee Resettlement and note that MoCo, although among the highest counties that will absorb the illegal alien teens, is not the highest.
And, by the way, the data at ORR is only through March and you know the April 2021 invasion is surely one of the largest in many years.

As Montgomery County expects wave of unaccompanied minors, local nonprofit works to expand capacity
There have been at least 104 undocumented migrant children resettled with family or sponsors in Montgomery County since October, according to the Office of Refugee Resettlement. However, the latest data is from February which likely means many more children have already relocated to the county.
As of late April, Montgomery County Public Schools recorded 70 students are believed to be unaccompanied minors. Officials expect 3,000 undocumented children to reach the county by this year or as early as summer.
The federal data base shows that Montgomery County received 178 UACs through the end of March, so if 70 registered for school, where are the other 108? And, why is the database not up to date?
The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services (MCHHS) is partnered with eight organizations: Identity, Inc., Family Services, Inc., CASA, Mary’s Center, Impact Silver Spring, Catholic Charities, LAYC (Latin American Youth Council) and Ayuda.
About eight or so years ago, I posted often about CASA, see hereif you are interested.
The county had planned to call FEMA and the Office of Refugee Resettlement for federal funding since it’s one of the top 10 receiving sites for asylum-seeking children.
“The call took place but there were no commitments from FEMA about funding,” a MCHHS spokesperson said.
One of the major concerns to avoid is the involvement of gangs.
Community leaders know gangs are preparing themselves to recruit many of the young people as members offer what could seem like a family environment.

A Montgomery County police spokesperson said the department is working with the Department of Health and Human Services to address gang preventative measures for all undocumented minors.

In Virginia, there have been 119 resettlements in Fairfax County.
The sponsors who help happen at the federal level. The Office of Refugee Resettlement works with organizations such as Bethany Christian Services & Lutheran Immigration & Refugee Services on sponsoring children. These organizations previously are certified and licensed at the federal level.
Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service, headquartered at the Inner Harbor in Baltimore, is a federal refugee contractor which I write about often at RRW. The UACs, however, are NOT refugees, remember that!
$55 million is their take (of your money) for the children! over the last twelve months.
P.S. Maryland Republican Governor Hogan is apparently not saying a word about the ‘children’ flooding into the state for taxpayers to support. Twenty other governors are saying NO, even as the federal government ignores them.
A gang database that has been used for ten years to help law enforcement keep track of gang members in Maryland and Virginia is being attacked by Leftwingers as racist.
New Americans! Maryland/Virginia MS-13 arrested in 2019 for gang murder claimed to be refugees.
By the way, one of its uses by law enforcement was to be sure that when they jailed a gang member they didn’t put him in with an opposing gang member.
Seems like one good reason for the Democrat Socialists to like the data base. Nah, race baiting is so much more fun and profitable for them.

Heck, any public body that notices not-so comfortable patterns about criminal behavior could be in a lot of trouble.Hence, the decision by the North Virginia Regional Gang Task Force to discontinue using GangNet, a database that compiles a list of alleged gang members in the D.C. area.
Anti-white activists claimed that this database intentionally over-represents the instances that non-whites are involved in crimes. Previously, when people’s brains weren’t infected by the woke virus, these databases were reliable tools law enforcement officials used to track gang activities. More than 120 law enforcement agencies in Maryland, Virginia and Washington D.C. use GangNet. The Office of National Drug Control Policy’s Washington/Baltimore High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas (HIDTA) runs this database and claims that the files of 7,800 alleged gang members are stored in its database. The database has been used for around a decade.

Court grants new trial after cop says Somalis tend to lie
MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A Minnesota man of Somali descent who was convicted of opening fire on other Somalis will get a new trial after a detective improperly testified that Somalis often lie to police, a Wisconsin appeals court ruled Tuesday.
Ahmed Farah Hirsi was charged with multiple counts of attempted homicide and recklessly endangering safety in the January 2014 car-to-car shooting at the Spirit Seller liquor store in Hudson, Wisconsin, just across the state line from the Twin Cities. A jury convicted Hirsi in 2015 and he was sentenced to 35 years in prison.
According to court documents, the driver of Hirsi’s car testified in a plea deal that Hirsi pulled the trigger. But the victims who testified at trial said they either didn’t see the shooter or that it wasn’t Hirsi. The driver of the victims’ car testified that he told police that the man who shot him was still out there.
Prosecutors called Tracy Henry, a detective from St. Paul, Minnesota, to the stand. Minnesota has the largest concentration of Somalis in America.
Henry testified that in her experience Somalis don’t trust police and prefer to handle disputes themselves. She added that Somali crime victims and witnesses tend to “fabricate” events to avoid retribution within their clans.
Hirsi argued on appeal that the judge never should have allowed the detective’s testimony because it impugns the credibility of another witness and it was improper because it was based on race or ethnicity.
The 3rd District Court of Appeals agreed and ordered a new trial. The court ruled unanimously that the testimony violated legal rules that prohibit one witness from commenting about the truthfulness of another witness’ testimony. The racial and ethnic aspect of Henry’s testimony raises “heightened prejudice concerns,” the court said. The relevance of group tendencies in predicting witness credibility is “extraordinarily weak,” the court said.
Endnote: I’ve been busy over at RRW these last few days because first I learned that the refugee flow to America had not slowed due to the virus crisis. Then, just two days ago, the UN stopped the flow of refugees because of fear that the refugees would be exposed to coronavirus.
