Under President Trump the Federal Government is Working to Combat EMP Warfare

EMP stands for Electromagnetic Pulse and an EMP episode could come from a hostile foreign government or from a natural occurrence, but in either case it is really really bad news if it should ever happen in our lifetimes.

In May of 2015, I had the honor of meeting and briefing candidate Donald Trump in a backroom at a National Security Summit in Iowa. See here. Of course, my portion of the briefing was on the US Refugee Admissions Program, but Dr. Peter Pry briefed the President on the danger of EMP and how we as a country are not prepared for such a catastrophic event.

Trump was extremely interested in what Pry had to say and was shocked to learn that the federal government was doing little to get ready for what might be the worst destructive event to hit America and the world.

Oh, and btw, for preppers this is the ultimate nightmare.

My view is that it is futile to think regular Americans like you and me would survive an EMP attack (read the novel!), so don’t let the ultimate nightmare stop you from prepping for smaller disruptions to our comfy lives, like rioting Leftists, food supply chain disruptions, storms, fires and, as in California, mismanagement of the electrical supply.

I’ve been busy with my own issues since the Iowa summit, but I see this morning that the Department of Homeland Security is working on the problem after the President issued an Executive Order in 2019.

Releases: Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) Program Status Report

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) continues to prepare against ever evolving threats against the American homeland, most recently highlighting efforts to combat an Electromagnetic Pulse attack which could disrupt the electrical grid and potentially damage electronics. Today, the department is releasing the Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) Program Status Report as part of an update on efforts underway in support of Executive Order (E.O.) 13865 on Coordinating National Resilience to Electromagnetic Pulses. E.O. 13865 establishes resilience and security standards for U.S. critical infrastructure as a national priority.

EMP weapons have the potential to disrupt unprotected critical infrastructure within the US and could impact millions over large parts of the country. Since the President’s signing of the E.O. in March 2019, DHS, through the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Agency (CISA), in coordination with the Science and Technology Directorate (S&T) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), has taken key actions to address known EMP-related vulnerabilities to critical infrastructure. The EMP Program Status Report highlights efforts taken across the public and private sector to foster increased resilience to EMP events. Through data analysis, vulnerability and risk assessments, testing and pilot programs, and government and industry engagement, the department is identifying critical infrastructure and associated functions that are at greatest risk from an EMP, and developing and implementing best practices to reduce the risk.

“EMP attacks are part of the emerging threats against our nation and demand a response,” said Senior Official Performing the Duties of the Deputy Secretary Ken Cuccinelli. “That is why DHS is taking these contingencies very seriously, working diligently to mitigate our risks and equipping our state and local partners with the resources they need to do the same. We’ve made significant progress and look forward to the work ahead.”

“As the Nation’s risk advisor, one of CISA’s priorities is understanding and mitigating threats associated with EMPs,” said CISA Director Chris Krebs. “Over the past year, we have worked with interagency and industry partners to identify the footprint and effects of EMP threats across our National Critical Functions, and are developing sustainable, efficient, and cost-effective approaches to improving the Nation’s resilience to EMPs.”

In 2018, DHS released the Strategy for Protecting and Preparing the Homeland against Threats from Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) and Geomagnetic Disturbance (GMD), which was the Department’s first articulation of a holistic, long-term, partnership-based approach to protecting critical infrastructure and preparing to respond and recover from potentially catastrophic electromagnetic incidents.

Add this to the extensive list of things the President said he would do if elected in 2016.  I highly doubt the Dems will continue this work if Biden wins in November.

That is what the UK Daily Mail is reporting, but I would love to see some stats about where all of those leaving their soiled nests are now resettling (and likely bringing those liberal policies that created the LA hellhole with them).

British-born Danny O’Brien runs Watford Moving & Storage. ‘There is a mass exodus from Hollywood,’ he says.

‘And a lot of it is to do with politics.’ His business is booming. ‘August has already set records and we are only halfway through the month,’ he tells me.

‘People are getting out in droves. Last week I moved a prominent person in the music industry from a $6.5 million [£5 million] mansion above Sunset Boulevard to Nashville.’

O’Brien, 58, who moved to LA from London 34 years ago, is also planning to move to Tennessee.

‘Liberal politics has destroyed this city,’ he says. ‘The homeless encampments are legal and there’s nothing the police can do. White, affluent middle-class folk are getting out. People don’t feel safe any more.’

With movie studios still shuttered because of the coronavirus pandemic and businesses only just starting to remove the wooden boards put up after city-wide rioting following the death of George Floyd while being arrested by three white officers in Minneapolis, LA is now in the grip of white flight.

Warning: Two Weeks of (Relative!) Peace Left before Prediction of September Chaos

Three weeks ago today I talked about prepping for possible increased social unrest that could mean shortages in grocery stores and an uptick in violence on city (small town!) streets.

How are you doing with your prepping? Time is growing short according to many observers who are following the evolution of what they expect to be a perfect storm.

Here is one such view suggesting that we don’t have until November—a date which most of us assume will bring Armageddon if Trump is elected to four more years in the White House—to prepare for the safety of your loved ones.

By the way, I find it very uncomfortable sounding like a fearmonger, but I see no downside to stocking up, locking up, and making plans with your family to defend what is yours.   I think it’s mentally a good exercise to rid yourself of the “normalcy bias” and imagine some what-if scenarios so if all hell breaks loose you are mentally and physically prepared.

If no hell, then thank God, laugh at yourself and enjoy fewer trips to the store this winter.

2020 has definitely been a chaotic year so far. The COVID-19 pandemic has greatly disrupted life all over the planet, we have witnessed a horrific economic downturn, and civil unrest has been raging in major U.S. cities for months. But the good news is that we appear to have hit a pocket of relative calm here in August.

Yes, global events are still going crazy, and the bizarre explosion that we just witnessed in Beirut is just one example. But compared to what we experienced during the first half of 2020 and compared to what we will experience during the last portion of this year, I believe that August should be relatively peaceful.

I would encourage everyone to enjoy this month as much as possible and to use it to prepare for what is ahead, because September is just around the corner.

Of course many Americans can’t imagine things getting much worse than they are right now. Gallup regularly asks Americans whether they are “satisfied” with the direction of the country or not, and what they have discovered is that the mood of the country has shifted dramatically since February, and this has especially been true among Republicans…

I believe that this will be the most chaotic election period in modern U.S. history, and I believe that much more civil unrest is ahead.

In particular, I believe that a Donald Trump victory in November or a contested result that is decided by a long legal battle could set off a national temper tantrum that would be absolutely unprecedented.

The period of time that we have entered has been described as “a perfect storm”, and as I have detailed previously, quite a few prominent voices have been specifically pointing to the month of September as a major turning point.

Of course the craziness will also continue throughout the rest of 2020 and into 2021 as well. And beyond that, we will see things happen that most Americans would not even want to imagine right now.

The Lincoln Project (aka Grifter Project) Out to Destroy Trump’s Friends in the Senate

Surely you’ve seen their anti-Trump ads and maybe figured they were just a bunch of Dems.  Well, they aren’t, they are disgruntled supposed Republicans out to destroy Trump (and Trumpism!) and are being led by Trump advisor Kellyanne Conway’s hubby George Conway among others.

It isn’t just Trump they are after, but are amassing millions of bucks (surely from Dems) to buy ads against prominent Republicans.

It is kind of disgusting that they call themselves the Lincoln Project (Lincoln was a Republican), but according to the New York Post, NRO has renamed the PAC—the Grifter Project.

Here is what The Hill reported today:

Lincoln Project expands GOP target list, winning Trump ire

The former GOP operatives behind The Lincoln Project are expanding their list of Republican targets, infuriating allies of President Trump’s and national Republicans scrambling to preserve the GOP majority in the Senate.

In addition to a relentless negative ad campaign against Trump, the group has so far spent more than $1.3 million attacking Sen. Susan Collins (Maine), who is among the most vulnerable GOP senators up for reelection. That’s by far the most they’ve spent on any Senate candidate.

Federal Election Commission (FEC) filings reveal The Lincoln Project has also targeted more than a half-dozen other Republicans up for reelection in 2020, including Sens. Cory Gardner (Colo), Martha McSally (Ariz.), Lindsey Graham (S.C.), Thom Tillis (N.C.), Joni Ernst (Iowa), John Cornyn (Texas) and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (Ky.).

The group is running ads in support of Democratic Senate candidate Steve Bullock in Montana and independent Al Gross in Alaska, who are seeking to unseat Sens. Steve Daines (R-Mont.) and Dan Sullivan (R-Alaska), respectively.

Biden Republicans!

Reed Galen, a strategist for the group, told The Hill that “the Senate map has expanded” and that off-cycle Senate Republicans “shouldn’t believe their day won’t come.” The Lincoln Project has invested very small amounts in ads going after Sens. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), Ted Cruz (R-Texas), James Inhofe (R-Okla.) and Mike Rounds (R-S.D.).

The Lincoln Project is taking heat from Republicans for backing challengers to blue-state GOP senators and moderates, such as Collins, who voted against Trump’s efforts to repeal ObamaCare. Galen defended the attacks, saying they’ll target anyone who they believe has inadequately fought back against Trump.

“The stated goal from the beginning was to defeat Trump and Trumpism at the ballot box and to call out his enablers,” Galen said.

“These senators we’ve gone after are not conservative Republicans in any classical sense of those words … they should have T’s behind their names, not R’s.”

The group’s senior members were well-known Washington Republicans before they turned to electing Democrats. The team includes lawyer George Conway, the husband of White House senior adviser Kellyanne Conway, as well as veteran GOP operatives and strategists Rick Wilson, Steve Schmidt and John Weaver.

Republicans working to reelect Trump and maintain the majority in the Senate are hitting back, alleging that the former GOP operatives are “grifters” who have taken up electing Democrats because they lost their cushy establishment jobs when Trump was elected.

Makes you wonder if they were Dems all along (while ‘advising’ the likes of John McCain) to assure that Rs were defeated.

Colorado Pro Police Rally Turns Violent

The peaceful rally to Back the Blue was interrupted by the arrival of a black clad Antifa/BLM creeps and the police supporters were having none of it.

Things turned ugly as the pro-police group attempted to push the intruders out of the neighborhood with chants of “Commies go home!”

Police made several arrests. I watched a number of videos and it appears those arrested were on the side of Antifa/BLM.

The most important takeaway for me was to see this was happening, not on some big city street (like you saw in my post yesterday), but in a suburban neighborhood just like hundreds of thousands of other neighborhoods in America.
