Texas: Investigation and Trial of Alleged Serial Murderer, Billy Chemirmir, Delayed

Delayed due to the Chinese Virus says the Dallas Morning News,

Pandemic causes delay in investigation, trial of serial murder suspect Billy Chemirmir

Over two years after Billy Chemirmir’s arrest, families who say their elderly loved ones were killed by the serial murder suspect are wondering what’s taking so long for county officials to declare the deaths homicides.

Kenyan Billy Chemirmir with some of the seniors it is believed he smothered to death to steal their jewelry. (The only man so far identified as a possible victim was found in a pool of blood.)

Dallas County Medical Examiner Jeffery Barnard said Wednesday that the coronavirus pandemic has slowed the process of amending those death certificates but that he will work to clear the cases by the end of July.

The death certificate revisions aren’t the only part of the investigation into Chemirmir that has been slowed by the pandemic. His attorney, Phillip Hayes, said Thursday that the virus also will delay his criminal trial.

Chemirmir, 47, has been indicted in the deaths of 14 elderly people in Dallas and Collin counties, and civil lawsuits name him as a suspect in the deaths of eight others. A Kenyan immigrant with permanent resident status in the U.S., he is in the Dallas County Jail in lieu of $11.6 million bail.

The number of potential victims could make Chemirmir among the most prolific serial killers in Texas history. He maintains he is innocent.

Some of the victims’ family members are strongly voicing their objections to further delay by the Medical Examiners office.

See my post: Their mothers were murdered where I have published a list of previous posts. https://fraudscrookscriminals.com/2019/12/07/texas-their-mothers-were-murdered/

Secure Our Seniors Safety, a nonprofit founded last year by the daughters of four of Chemirmir’s alleged victims, says that at least five cases are awaiting amendment from “natural causes” or “old age” to homicide.

Throughout 2018, nearly two dozen families in North Texas received the shocking news that police were re-investigating their loved ones’ deaths as possible murders. The calls came as much as two years after their loved ones died at luxury senior living communities and private homes in Dallas, Richardson, Plano and Frisco.

The families had no choice but to wait for the causes of death to be amended and the cases to be presented to a grand jury.

For some, the wait lasted just a few weeks. Others waited months. Some are still waiting.

I highly recommend that you read the whole story

The Dallas Morning News is the only larger media outlet to report on the gruesome story since it first broke in the spring of 2019.

Nobody says this, but you know it…..

Frankly, if the killer was white and the victims black senior citizens this would be news trumpeted across the world on a regular basis. CNN  and the New York Times would have reporters camped in Dallas to report every detail of the story.

Heck, the Antifa rioters would likely have torn the jail down by now!

See my Billy Chemirmir (the Kenyan Killer) archive.  (There are some stories in the archive in which I just reference him in relation to other criminal cases.)

Could Illegal Aliens be Responsible for Jump in Chinese Virus Cases in Border States?

Todd Bensman, writing at the Center for Immigration Studies, thinks that is possible.

Mounting Evidence Points to Covid Refugees from Mexico as a Major Factor in Border-State Spikes

Evidence continues to mount that spikes in Covid cases in U.S. border states are due to successive waves of infected people fleeing Mexico’s dysfunctional and overwhelmed hospitals to get American medical care at least as much, if not more than, to the re-opening of those states’ economies.

This matters because officials in border states are beginning to base policy decisions for partial lock-downs on grounds that lifting them is what caused the spikes.

Although the states and hospitals do not release nationality or immigration status information, several Border Patrol agents told the Center for Immigration Studies that, per policy, they have been transporting to U.S. care facilities increasing numbers of illegal Central American border-crossers they apprehend who report Covid-like symptoms, as well as Cubans, Venezuelans, Ecuadorans, and other nationalities.

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s media relations office was not able confirm the extent to which that was happening, but did release the following statement regarding Border Patrol hospital runs such as those the agents described.

“CBP has longstanding procedures in place to ensure that the individuals we encounter are able to receive treatment from local health authorities or other medical professionals. All persons in CBP custody who meet the Center for Disease Control’s Covid-19 travel history and enhanced screening guidelines are being referred to the CDC or local health officials for additional screening. CBP takes all necessary precautions to ensure that no communicable diseases are spread across populations in custody.”

Earlier, the Washington Postthe New York Times, and the Wall Street Journal all reported a crush of infected people from Mexico coming over the Arizona and California borders, although the publications say all appear to be American expatriates, dual citizenship holders, and Mexican legal permanent residents.

States appear to be transporting many to interior facilities to keep bed space free on the border as the influx continues, adding to the impression that these imported patients were infected inside the United States due to lifting lock-downs rather than in Mexico, where few social distancing measures were implemented.

The Times and now Reuters have reported that California, for instance, has been airlifting Covid patients from “saturated” border clinics to hospitals in the state’s interior.

Boston “Man” Nabbed for Stealing Millions from PPP Program

Reader Tom sent me a story from Sundance at the Conservative Treehouse about how Elijah Majak Buoi has been busy amassing millions of dollars meant to help small businesses survive the Chinese virus crisis.

The Conservative Treehouse story is here.  And the press release from the US Justice Department is here.

There is lots of coverage of the “man” who I am guessing is a ‘new American’ from Africa (Sudan maybe?), but I was searching for a story that might have a photo and found this one at Universal Hub:

Area man charged with $2 million in coronavirus loan fraud

Federal prosecutors today charged a Winchester man with wire fraud for his four applications for federal loans aimed at helping small businesses continue to make payroll despite losses related to Covid-19, alleging he made up employee numbers and that the few employees he does have are all based in India.

According to a federal complaint unsealed today, Elijah Majak Buoi of Winchester was rejected for three of his applications for Paycheck Protection Program loans – which can be converted to grants – but was granted $2 million on the fourth, despite giving different employee and payroll numbers on the applications.

In addition to having Buoi arrested today, the US Attorney’s office is asking a judge to freeze his bank accounts so he cannot transfer the money he received out of the country. At his arraignment, a federal magistrate judge in Worcester set cash bail of $15,000.

[….]

The affidavit*** states that Buoi first filed a PPP application with Bank of America in April for $7.5 million, based on the 353 employees he said he had, all allegedly in Massachusetts. After the bank rejected his request, he tried again with three other lenders, asking each for $2 million, with his employee count on applications ranging from 18 to 96 employees.

The first two lenders also rejected his requests, but the final one, to which he claimed he had 96 US employees, approved his request and he had $2 million deposited in his Bank of America checking account earlier this month.

According to the affidavit, Buoi’s LinkedIn page says he has just five employees, and all are in India, making them ineligible for PPP coverage.

[….]

According to the affidavit, Buoi transferred some $1.2 million of the PPP payment from one Bank of America account to another and has withdrawn $27,000 of it – $20,000 in a wire transfer to India.

The US government was able to get most of our money back.

As Immigration Slows due to Chinese Virus, Federal Employees at USCIS Could be Furloughed

“These are good-paying jobs, these are federal employees with good health insurance, good salaries and good retirement benefits. This is not like losing a low wage job.”

(Gabriel Pedreira, regional union organizer for the American Federation of Government Employees)

That is if Congress doesn’t move swiftly to bail out the agency that processes applications for citizenship among other things.

The Dems must be going nuts because this is just the season when their push to get more Democrat voters through the citizenship process in time for the November election is usually in full swing.

The story is from the Vermont Digger, a publication I highly recommend to readers interested in what is happening in the people’s republic of Vermont.  (Hat tip: Brenda)

Vermont USCIS employees face furlough due to budget shortfall

Thousands of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services employees across the country, including some based in Vermont, may be furloughed next month due to a shortfall in the federal agency’s budget.

The Covid-19 pandemic has caused a “dramatic” decrease in revenue the agency relies on, generated by applications and petitions related to citizenship, according to a USCIS spokesperson. In response, 13,400 USCIS employees nationwide may be furloughed as a cost-saving measure.

Vermont is home to one of five USCIS service centers that are responsible for processing millions of citizenship applications, according to a 2017 report to Congress. The agency employees people primarily in St. Albans and Essex.

During the 2016 fiscal year of the five service centers, Vermont’s had both the highest allowed employee spots of 1,021 and the highest number of working staff of 959 employees.

Union organizer Pedreira

Gabriel Pedreira, a regional organizer for the American Federation of Government Employees, the union that represents USCIS employees said the situation for Vermont is particularly dire.

[….]

According to the USCIS spokesperson, the shortfall is due to a projected drop of 61% in citizenship applications and petitions through the end of the 2020 fiscal year.

[….]

Cross-border travel into the United States has slowed drastically during the Covid-19 crisis, as travel restrictions have been imposed — including the partial closure of the U.S.-Canada border.

[….]

Pedreira said in a time of economic decline in the United States, the loss of pay for USCIS employees affects more than just those workers — it affects the entire economy.

“These are good-paying jobs, these are federal employees with good health insurance, good salaries and good retirement benefits. This is not like losing a low wage job,” Pedreira said. “So these are employees who because they make a good salary contribute to the local economy.”

Who cares about the rest of you low wage nonessential workers hurt by the Chinese Virus—these are good jobs!

Be Prepared for More Hype from Global Warming Agitators

Over at Refugee Resettlement Watch I keep a close eye on a favorite issue of the Left and that is their prediction that millions of “climate refugees” will be surging across the globe looking for new homes where you live.  So every day I look through alerts on the subject.

(See my category on Climate Refugees at RRW.)

The number of alerts for stories on the “climate catastrophe” topic are expanding exponentially, including ones like this about how climate change is responsible for rich people leaving coastal Florida and thus pushing gentrification into low income neighborhoods inland.  The theme of course is that the rich are going to hurt the poor (again).

But, I have noticed a new angle from the hard Left (because they never miss a beat and famously never let a good crisis go to waste) including now linking the Chinese Virus ‘crisis’ to climate change (yes, making any stretch they can to get their message out).

Here at a demonstration in London this week, Extinction Rebellion’s banner says it all.

Those are children’s shoes lined up (sans the children who presumably will be dead)!

From Democracy Now:

COVID Today, Climate Tomorrow”: Climate Activists Stage Protest Installation in London

In Britain, climate activists from Extinction Rebellion staged a protest in London’s Trafalgar Square Monday, lining up over 2,000 pairs of children’s shoes to draw attention to the ongoing threat of climate catastrophe. Activists are demanding the government tackle the climate crisis and refuse to bail out extractive industries as part of the coronavirus recovery effort. A banner reading ”COVID Today, Climate Tomorrow, Act Now” was unfurled at the protest. “One crisis doesn’t stop because another starts,” said Extinction Rebellion.

And, here NY Magazine is linking Corornavirus and Climate too in a lengthier description of a doomsday scenario.

The author predicts a much hotter summer (I wish it would get here because it is a cold spring where I live!). However, the full impact of their climate catastrophe prediction won’t be felt until 2070.  So I leave it to you youngsters to report when that day comes.
