NYC: Illegal Alien Rapes and Murders 92-year-old, ICE Blasts Sanctuary City Policy

You’ve probably seen the news, but just in case here is the UK Daily Mail on the dreadful news:

ICE blasts ‘dangerously flawed’ NYC sanctuary laws for letting Guyanese illegal immigrant, 21, walk free without bail just weeks before he ‘raped and murdered a 92-year-old woman’

Immigration and Customs Enforcement has blasted New York City’s sanctuary laws, saying the city ignored a federal immigration detainer for a man who went on to be charged with the rape and murder of a 92-year-old woman.

Reeaz Khan, 21, walked free without bail on assault and gun charges in late November, six weeks before he was arrested again on Friday and charged in the horrific murder of Maria Fuertes in Queens.

On Tuesday, ICE released a statement excoriating the city for not cooperating with federal immigration enforcement, saying the murder could have been prevented if its agents had been allowed in November to take custody of Khan, a Guyanese national who is present in the U.S. illegally.

‘New York City’s stance against honoring detainers is dangerously flawed,’ said Thomas R. Decker, ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations field office director for New York. ‘It was a deadly choice to release a man on an active ICE detainer back onto the streets after his first arrest.’

There is much more here, but I warn you it is horrible.

So how did someone named Khan come to be living in Guyana?

Did you know about this—Afghan Muslims to Guyana.

Utah: Nigerian Arrested for Murder Faces Additional Charges

This is an update on the dreadful case in Utah where a Nigerian, who should not have been in the country, allegedly kidnapped, killed and then attempted to burn the body of a college coed, faces new charges.

From the Salt Lake Tribune,

Suspect in slaying of Utah student MacKenzie Lueck charged with kidnapping, sexually abusing another woman

The man accused of killing MacKenzie Lueck, a 23-year-old University of Utah student, has been charged with four new felony counts of kidnapping and sexually abusing another woman in March 2018.

Ayoola Ajayi’s little house of horrors….

This is the second set of new charges filed against 31-year-old Ayoola Ajayi since he was booked into jail in connection with Lueck’s alleged murder. Last week, prosecutors charged Ajayi with 19 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor after they found numerous pornographic photos of children on his computer.

The charges filed Tuesday in Utah’s 3rd District Court allege he abused a woman he met on an unspecified dating app. Ajayi invited the woman to his home to cook her dinner on March 10, 2018, and the charges allege that while they watched TV on his couch, he started “intensely” kissing her and trying to touch her inappropriately and forcefully.

When the woman tried to get away, Ajayi allegedly pinned her down and bit her at least three times, “causing her significant pain, and left bruising and bite marks,” the charges said. He is now facing a first-degree felony charge of aggravated kidnapping and three counts of forcible sexual abuse, a second-degree felony.

Salt Lake County District Attorney Sim Gill said the woman came to law enforcement with these allegations after Lueck’s death. The delayed report “is understandable because many victims of sexual trauma don’t always disclose,” Gill said.

Presumably this woman is on her knees every day thanking God she didn’t suffer the same fate as poor Mackenzie.

Too bad she didn’t come forward immediately after the incident and maybe the creep would have been removed from the country (wishful thinking on my part because the authorities wouldn’t have booted him for a little sexual abuse!).

But, heck, maybe they would have found the child porn in his home, if the woman had come forward earlier.

Gill also declined to say whether anyone else has come forward with new allegations against Ajayi.

More here.

I wonder how many more women abused by the Nigerian (who should have been deported long ago) are out there?

Although my reach is limited, I’m trying to keep some of the most dreadful murder cases involving immigrants in the national spotlight.

Because they don’t fit the politically correct narrative the national media spews out every day, it is important for us to keep instructive cases like this one in front of as many Americans as possible.

Another Rape in Montgomery County, MD, Sanctuary to Illegals

I know you are probably saying this is happening in every sanctuary city, county and state in America, but since I once lived in MoCo, these cases are of great interest.

(See my post from Saturday about two Salvadorans raping a child, here.)

Indeed the police there have notoriously bent over backward to please the multiculturally diverse population including the huge numbers of Central Americans—Salvadorans, Guatemalans and Hondurans—who have migrated there drawn no doubt by the county’s sanctuary status.

Today’s alleged rapist is Honduran, but you wouldn’t know that from the Montgomery County, PD press release.  (Hat tip: Gail.)

Well, at least we have to give the PD credit for posting his pic!

Suspect Arrested for Silver Spring Rape and Attempted Second-Degree Murder of Victim

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – Special Victims Investigations Division (SVID) have arrested and charged Kevin Mendoza, age 26, of the 8500 block of 16th Street in Silver Spring, with the first-degree rape and attempted second-degree murder of an adult female that occurred at an apartment building in Silver Spring.

On August 16 at approximately 11:55 p.m., officers responded to the report of a rape that had just occurred at an apartment building in the 8500 block of 16th Street. Investigation by SVID detectives has determined that the victim was carrying items from her vehicle parked in the parking lot to the apartment building when she noticed a male that appeared to be following her. As she unlocked the door to the building, the male suspect grabbed her from behind and threw her to the floor. The victim attempted to yell and resist but the suspect began to strangle her with his hands. As the victim continued to attempt to escape the suspect struck her multiple times in the face and head with a closed fist. The suspect then raped the victim.

The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of multiple injuries sustained during the attack. Doctors advised detectives that the severity of the strangulation the victim suffered could have resulted in her death.

Through investigation, Mendoza, who is a former resident of the apartment building in which he committed the rape, was developed as a suspect.

Today, at approximately 10:34 a.m., officers arrested Mendoza on Ross Road in Silver Spring. He was transported to the Central Processing Unit and charged with first-degree rape, attempted second-degree murder, and first-degree assault. Bond information is not available at this time.

[End of press release.]

But get this….

No mention in that press release about Mendoza’s nationality or immigration status.

So, I had a little look around and guess what!

ICE has lodged a detainer against him—a Honduran illegal alien!

From Fox 5:

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) deportation officers lodged a detainer with the Montgomery County Detention Center Tuesday on a 26-year-old man who police say violently attacked a woman in Silver Spring last week.

[….]

According to ICE, Mendoza is a Honduran National who is unlawfully present in the U.S.

ICE released the following statement on detainers Tuesday:

“Detainers serve as a legally-authorized request, upon which a law enforcement agency may rely, to continue to maintain custody of an alien for up to 48 hours so that ICE may assume custody for removal purposes. Pursuant to ICE policy, all ICE detainers are submitted with an accompanying administrative arrest warrant or warrant of removal depending upon the circumstances of the individual case. “

I’m wondering if the police in this wealthy county adjoining Washington, DC are having any second thoughts about the county’s sanctuary status and their long-held practice of leaving the illegal aliens alone?

Maryland: Salvadorans Arrested for Repeatedly Raping 11-year-old

Montgomery County, Maryland is a sanctuary county and thank goodness I no longer live there!

mississippi-child-crying
The Mississippi sobbing girl picture is everywhere (even at Fox News!).  She is a lot luckier than the 11-year-old Maryland girl!

Daniel Horowitz, writing at Conservative Review, reminds us of the 11-year-old poster girl the leftwing media has been promoting lately—you know the girl crying because her father was rounded up in a recent meatpacking raid.  Surely you have seen the clip.

Horowitz asks about another 11-year-old—the one repeatedly raped by illegal alien monsters from El Salvador.

The one whose face you will never see.

(Emphasis below is mine.)

2 illegal aliens accused of raping 11-year-old girl in sanctuary Maryland county

The video of a crying 11-year-old girl is being used by the Left to militate against enforcing our sovereignty and immigration laws. Apparently the rule should be that anyone can come here and remain here illegally if they have a child, because enforcing our laws will result in hardship to the kids. But no such heart-tugging imagery exists for all the girls raped and harmed by criminal aliens thanks to the lack of enforcement or loopholes in our laws. The latest atrocity involves a different 11-year-old girl who will never be seen on camera.

Yesterday, WJLA news reported that Montgomery County, Maryland, police arrested two illegal aliens from El Salvador, Mauricio Barrera-Navidad, 29, and Carlos Palacios-Amaya, 28, for raping an 11-year-old child known to the alleged attackers.

The investigation was triggered by a discussion the child had with a school social worker last month, and the rapes are alleged to have occurred last September.

In September 2018, the victim was introduced to her older brother’s friend, Palacios-Amaya. Over the course of the next few months, the then 27-year-old man raped the middle schooler on multiple occasions, authorities allege. The victim recalled one instance where Palacios-Amaya “used his cell phone to video record the two of them having sex,” police noted in court documents.

The victim told the social worker that Palacios-Amaya would often pressure her not to attend school so that she could stay home while her parents were at work. That gave Palacios-Amaya unsupervised access to the girl.

Palacios-Amaya is charged with four counts of second-degree rape, and Barrera-Navidad is charged with one.

This story demonstrates, once again, that the people harmed the most by the lack of enforcement can be immigrant or illegal immigrant children. While the identity of a child victim is never released, it’s clear from the story that her older brother was friends with these individuals and they likely traveled in the same circles.

ICE spokeswoman Justine Whelan provided CR with the same statement regarding the immigration status of the accused as in the local ABC news report:

On July 25, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) lodged a detainer with the Montgomery County (Maryland) Detention Center on Carlos Ernesto Palacios-Amaya, a Salvadoran national, and a repeat immigration violator, following his arrest for rape. Palacios was previously removed from the U.S. in 2014.

On July 26, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) lodged a detainer with the Montgomery County (Maryland) Detention Center on Mauricio Barrera-Navidad, a Salvadoran national, unlawfully present in the United States, following his arrest for rape. Barrera is subject to a final order of removal that was issued by an immigration judge in December 2016.

Sadly, it’s unlikely that a single elected Republican, the DHS secretary, or anyone in the White House will even mention this horrific story, much less ask the salient public policy questions that Congress and the DHS must grapple with.

Continue reading hear.  Horowitz discusses the sorry state of US immigration policy and Washington’s inability (or is it a lack of will?) to control the invasion.
