The West African country of Ghana refuses to take back its illegal aliens and criminals that Homeland Security is trying to deport, so it joins six other countries on a list of countries whose nationals will be prohibited from getting certain visas to visit the US for business or pleasure. Before Trump, only two countries had been sanctioned!
FromThe Epoch Times(hat tip: TwoLaine):
Ghana Latest Nation Hit With US Visa Sanctions for Non-Compliance
WASHINGTON—The Department of Homeland Security has issued visa sanctions against Ghana for failing to accept their nationals that the United States is trying to deport. The African nation is the seventh country hit with such sanctions by the Trump administration. In 2015, Jean Jacques murdered Casey after he was released from detention because Haiti would not take him back. https://www.theday.com/article/20160606/NWS04/160609458
In September 2017, Cambodia, Eritrea, Guinea, and Sierra Leone were sanctioned, and in July 2018, Burma and Laos were added.
The sanctions most-often involve the suspension of B visas (temporary visitors for business or pleasure) to government officials. “American citizens have been harmed because foreign governments refuse to take back their citizens. These sanctions will ensure that the problem these countries pose will get no worse as ICE continues its work to remove dangerous criminals from the United States,” then-ICE Acting Director Thomas Homan said in September 2017. After six months, ICE is forced to release illegal immigrants who are in detention and ready for deportation if their country of origin won’t accept them or issue travel documents for them. The six-month deadline is pursuant to a 2001 Supreme Court ruling, Zadvydas vs. Davis.
In 2015, a Haitian man, whom Haiti failed to accept back when the United States tried to deport him, was released after six months and subsequently murdered a 25-year-old Connecticut woman in her home.
[….] Before Trump, only two countries—The Gambia (2016) and Guyana (2001)—were sanctioned for not accepting back their nationals.
More here.
Again, here are the countries that refuse to take back their frauds, crooks and criminals:
Cambodia
Eritrea
Guinea
Sierra Leone
Burma (we have hundreds of thousands here from Burma now, some are the Rohingya Muslims)
Laos
Ghana
How many of you knew about the Connecticut murder case? I don’t think I did. It is cases like that we should be seeing widely reported on cable news and in the big papers, but rarely do!
Editor: I actually started this post yesterday BEFORE the murder charges were filed, but never got it posted.
This morning I see the charges have now been filed, and, believe it or not, CNN is running the story with this headline. See here. (Too funny, that they have to put Trump in the headline! What the heck will they do when he is no longer President!)
Undocumented immigrant cited by Trump charged with four murders
This is the post I wrote yesterday: I was planning to tell you about this newsfrom last week where the Reno Gazette Journalinterviewed Wilber (sometimes spelled Wilbur) Marinez-Guzman’s friends who painted a sympathetic picture of the 19-year-old illegal alien from El Salvador, when I saw this story about the murders at CNN.
Wow! CNN reported at least this much! However, interesting that they bring the President in to the story in the headline as if his mention of the crime (related to the wall) is somehow a bad thing!
Undocumented immigrant admits killing couple in spree cited by Trump, police say
An undocumented immigrant has admitted to killing a Reno, Nevada, couple using a gun he stole from their home, police say in a probable cause document. President Donald Trump recently cited the killings and two others in a tweet in support of building a wall on the southern US border. “Four people in Nevada viciously robbed and killed by an illegal immigrant who should not have been in our Country,” the President tweeted Monday. “We need a powerful Wall!” CNN doesn’t show a picture of the victims.
The four people referenced include the Reno couple, plus two women who police say were victims of homicide in nearby Douglas County.
Connie Koontz, 56, was found dead January 10 in her home, and Sophia Renken, 74, was discovered dead January 13, also in her home.
Jerry David, 81, and his wife, Sherri David, 80, were found killed January 16 in their Reno home.
Investigators also discovered that possessions, including firearms, were stolen from the victims’ homes.
Wilber Ernesto Martinez-Guzman, 19, was arrested January 19. He was arraigned Thursday on 36 charges of burglary, possession of stolen property and obtaining money by false pretenses.
Prosecutors said he was found with weapons and other items stolen from the homes of the four victims.
Some of the victims knew Martinez-Guzman which suggests he had possibly cased their homes in advance—-a lesson to the soft-hearted!
Martinez-Guzman told investigators he killed Jerry and Sherri David with a gun stolen from their home and said where he buried the firearm, according to the probable cause document. Ten additional guns were found at the same location.
In Martinez-Guzman’s home, police say they found an iWatch and Mac computer stolen from Koontz at the time she was killed. There were no signs of forced entry at any of the crime scenes, and police have determined that Martinez-Guzman was familiar with all four victims, Douglas County Sheriff Dan Coverly said.
The lesson to all of you: Never permit a company (or an individual) to work at your home if workers are in the country illegally.
It is important for you to keep the story alive. According to CNN Martinez-Guzman will not be in court again until February 8th and by then the media will have moved along.
At least that is what the Associated Press reportedearlier today.
As soon as it happens, I’ll let you know. (See my postyesterday.)
In the meantime, AP tells us a little about the four victims murdered in their homes. AP story headlined:
Salvadoran man to be charged in Nevada killing spree
LAS VEGAS, Nevada —
A man suspected of being in the U.S. illegally shot and killed four people in Nevada over the past two weeks, including an elderly Reno couple, authorities said, and the slayings added fuel to the immigration debate. Wilbur Ernesto Martinez-Guzman, 19, from El Salvador, has been jailed in Carson City since Saturday on possession of stolen property, burglary and immigration charges.
Authorities said they expect to file murder charges against him in Reno in the shooting deaths of a Washoe County couple and in Douglas County in the slayings of two women in Gardnerville. Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong said federal immigration authorities told his office that Martinez-Guzman was in the country illegally.
No details of how the four were killed has been released. All died within the same week.
The investigation began Jan. 10, when 56-year-old Connie Koontz was found dead in her home. Three days later, the body of 74-year-old Sophia Renken was discovered in her home about a mile (1.6 kilometers) from where Koontz lived, authorities said. The Davids
On Jan. 16, the bodies of 81-year-old Gerald David and his 80-year-old wife, Sharon, were found in their home on the southern edge of Reno. The two were remembered as “jovial” by Tom Cates, a longtime friend who knew the Davids through Reno’s rodeo and equestrian scene.
Cates said Gerald David used his time as the Reno Rodeo Association president in 2006 to promote a breast cancer awareness campaign by getting the group’s cowboys to show they were “tough enough to wear pink shirts.”
“You walk into a room and his presence will just command attention. He was a true leader,” Cates said.
Sharon David was “exuberant” and “bubbly” and “loved animals to the hills,” he said. She was a former director of the rodeo.
Continue reading here to learn more about the other two victims. Be sure to watch the video which gives some more information about why the investigation is taking time. The President has tweeted about the case, but most of the coverage so far has been local. I expect that will change when the Nevada authorities present their case.
If murder charges are brought against Martinez-Guzman it will be up to you to get the information out far and wide. There will be great reluctance on the part of the Leftwing media to mention the case in light of their desire to defeat the President on the wall security issue.
They will be furious if he is right again!
We are still waiting to hear if authorities in Carson City, Nevada will be filing charges against a “man” they have in custody.
See my post yesterday (click here) for news about the arrest of Wilbur Martinez-Guzman, 19. Police believe he is responsible for a murder spree in Nevada earlier this month that left four people dead in their homes.
Here are two of those murdered Americans. (Thanks to TwoLaine for sending the link). Jerry David, 81, and his wife, Sherri, 80
More information here.
If you see that the charges have been filed before I do, please send a link!
Wilbur Ernesto Martinez-Guzman, 19, has been arrested and is expected to be charged in several murders of senior citizens in recent weeks in the Carson City, NV area.
From KOLO8(an ABC affiliate) (hat tip: TwoLaine):
The elderly are resting easier in Nevada, but should they?
Murder charges expected against suspect in killings
RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – A man apparently in the United States illegally is the primary suspect in four Northern Nevada murders, and no one else is being sought.
January 20, 2019, Washoe County Sheriff Darin Balaam hosted a multi-agency news conference to announce the arrest of 19-year-old Wilbur Ernesto Martinez-Guzman. Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong says the suspect had lived in the Carson City area about a year, but has no local record. Prime suspect in killing spree of senior citizens Wilbur Ernesto Martinez-Guzman
The suspect is so far charged with burglary, possession of stolen property and obtaining money by false pretenses, and he is on an immigration hold. District Attorneys from Washoe County and Douglas County hope to file murder charges against him in the coming days, saying there is enough evidence to support such charges.
The suspect was taken into custody Saturday, January 19, 2019 in Carson City. Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong says he was arrested on an immigration charge after being rammed by deputies on Carson Street in the Carson Mall parking lot. The suspect had already been identified as a person of interest through the investigation and tips from the public, and had been under surveillance. That operation involved several Carson City neighborhoods.
Were they murdered in their beds?
No information about a possible motive for the killings has been offered.
The first killing took place January 9 or 10, 2019. 56-year-old Connie Koontz was found shot to death at her home in the Gardnerville Ranchos.
[….]
January 13, 74-year-old Sophia Renken was found dead in her home about a mile away, also shot to death.
January 16, the bodies of 81-year-old Gerald David, a former Reno Rodeo President, and his wife, 80-year-old Sharon David, were found dead in their home on La Guardia Lane in south Reno, near Zolezzi. They also had been shot to death.
More here. Be sure to watch the news clip!
The reporter says they don’t want to put out a lot of publicity that might taint the jury pool. What the heck! This should be a national news story. As of this writing I only see it mentioned in Nevada media.
By the way, no mention of his nationality yet. (If anyone sees that let me know!).
I guess we are going to have angel children joining angel moms!
This is what you need to do. Get this story out as widely as possible. The President needs to know about it!
