Virginia Tech Football Player who Murdered Tinder ‘Date’ Treated Like Victim

Described by his attorney as a “soft spoken young man” you would think that Ismemen David Etute was the victim not the white apparently gay or trans restaurant worker whose head was smashed and was left “bubbling and gurgling” to die.

“Isi” Etute

This story is all over the place and generally told in such a way as to make Isi Etute a 6’3, 205 pound linebacker look like the victim who claims he thought he was meeting with a woman for a second sexual encounter.

Feeling duped, he (understandably?) used his physical power to allegedly beat the man to death.

(I spent some time, searching to see if Etute’s family came to America as refugees (using a secret decoder ring!) but found no reference to his family’s immigration status. I did find many stories about Etute as an up and comer football player and a good catch for Virginia Tech.)

Here is the Roanoke Times on June 9th:

Virginia Tech football player Isi Etute told police he punched victim after meeting for sexual encounter

CHRISTIANSBURG — A now suspended Virginia Tech football player told police he punched a sexual partner five times in the face and stomped on him after discovering the person he thought was a woman was actually a man, according to arguments presented Wednesday in a Montgomery County courtroom.

Jerry Smith

According to the autopsy, all the bones in Blacksburg resident Jerry Paul Smith’s face were broken, his teeth were missing and he had multiple cranial fractures. The medical examiner’s office had previously revealed that Smith had died from blunt force trauma to the head.

Ismemen David Etute of Virginia Beach was arrested and charged with second-degree murder June 2 in the death of Smith, a Blacksburg restaurant worker.

Etute was granted bond in a hearing Wednesday morning in Montgomery County General District Court, but Chief Deputy Commonwealth’s Attorney Patrick Jensen filed an expedited appeal that would have kept Etute in jail for up to five more days.

The two sides later Wednesday came to an agreement to release Etute on a $75,000 secured bond under house arrest and electronic monitoring, according to a release put out by Commonwealth’s Attorney Mary Pettitt. The order restricts Etute from returning to Montgomery County except to consult with his attorney or to attend court proceedings.

Outside courthouse, the Etute family gets a hug from Virginia Tech players as if it was they who had a family member killed.

The courtroom was packed as Judge Randal Duncan excluded cameras from the courtroom at the start of the proceeding. Smith’s family was in attendance. More than a dozen football players — most of them clad in Virginia Tech gear — were there in support of Etute.

Etute was somehow tricked by Smith when it was his second visit to Smith’s apartment?

According to those statements, Etute visited the victim’s apartment April 10 for oral sex after he was matched up with someone named “Angie” on Tinder. Etute returned to the apartment May 31 to engage in sexual activity and discovered the person he was matched up with was a man, according to summaries of the evidence made by both Morgan and defense attorney Jimmy Turk.

Etute also told police that Smith did not assault him.

Etute told the police he punched the victim five times in the face and continued punching the victim when the person hit the ground and “stomped” on him. He heard “bubbling and gurgling” as he left the apartment, but didn’t call the police.

More here.

The case gets complicated when two groups who often consider themselves discriminated against in the political victimhood game face each other.

Now see the Roanoke Times on June 10th and the reaction from the Gay/Trans community.

They are pretty angry that the alleged killer is being treated like the victim because he was somehow (justifiably?) angry at supposedly learning he wasn’t soliciting sex from a woman.

Killing of Jerry Paul Smith called ‘irrational,’ Isi Etute defense called discriminatory

Reverberations continued to spread Thursday from the Memorial Day killing of a gay Blacksburg man whose alleged attacker, a Hokie linebacker, told police that he’d lashed out after discovering the person he met for a sexual encounter was not a woman.

[….]

Reactions to the killing of Jerry Paul Smith, a 40-year-old restaurant project manager, grew louder after a Wednesday bond hearing for Isimemen David Etute, 18, of Blacksburg. Etute, a freshman on Virginia Tech’s football team until his arrest, at which point he was suspended, faces a second-degree murder charge.

Jimmy Turk, “go-to” attorney for Virginia Tech athletes in trouble with the law. https://www.pilotonline.com/sports/college/article_70f83e3c-8420-58ab-8f46-86147b625a77.html

In the courtroom, defense attorney Jimmy Turk of Radford said that Smith had solicited Etute for sex. After the hearing, Turk said, “Nobody deserves to die, but I don’t mind saying, don’t pretend you are something that you are not. Don’t target or lure anyone under that perception. That’s just wrong.”

Last week, a spokesperson for Smith’s family described him as a proud, openly gay man.

Turk’s remarks prompted waves of comments online and elsewhere.

Samantha Rosenthal, associate professor of history at Roanoke College and co-founder of the Southwest Virginia LGBTQ+ History Project, wrote in an email Thursday: “Regardless of the victim’s gender identity, the comments by Etute’s attorney demonstrate that the defense intends to use transness as an issue in this case. There is unfortunately a long history of framing transgender people as inherently deceptive or untruthful about their identities.

Joe Cobb

Roanoke City Council member Joe Cobb, who identifies as a member of the region’s LGBT community, had similar thoughts, saying the larger picture was of how LGBTQ people are seen by the wider society and often have been blamed for crimes in which they were the victims.

“That’s discrimination,” Cobb said.

Calling Smith’s death “horrific,” Cobb said that though many details remain unknown, the part that stood out to him was that it involved two consenting adults who had already had one sexual encounter.

This will be a trial to watch if it ever comes to that!

In the meantime, I still want to know if the Etutes are ‘New Americans,’ which I suspect they are.

Iowa: Illegal Alien on Trial for Brutal Murder Drops Bombshell, Takes Back His Confession

The man on trial for the murder of college student Mollie Tibbets in 2018 took the stand in the final portion of the defense’s case and told the court that two masked and armed men were responsible.

The case makes me so sick that I hadn’t been following it as closely as you likely have, so I was stunned to see the headlines this morning.

Clearly the plan is to sow seeds of doubt among the jurors.

Here is the Des Moines Register:

Mollie Tibbetts case: Cristhian Bahena Rivera says two armed men put Tibbetts into his trunk, threatened him

The man charged with first-degree murder in the slaying of Mollie Tibbetts testified Wednesday that he didn’t kill Tibbetts. Instead, he pointed blame at two unknown masked men — one armed with a gun, another with a knife — who surprised him at his home on the Yarrabee Farms property in rural Poweshiek County the night Tibbetts disappeared.

The Des Moines Register shows Bahena Rivera speaking with a court interpreter. I reported here that a massive cost to state and local tax payers is the cost of these interpreters when illegal aliens and refugees are in the criminal justice system. Thank Bill Clinton for that. https://fraudscrookscriminals.com/2019/07/31/illegal-alien-mexican-on-trial-for-gruesome-murder-costs-iowa-taxpayers-a-bundle/

The men, according to Cristhian Bahena Rivera, forced him to get into his car July 18, 2018, and drive around near Brooklyn, Iowa, before spotting Tibbetts jogging toward town. Bahena Rivera said the men — one named “Jack” — made him circle around several times before stopping along a gravel road near where Tibbetts was last seen.

They drove out of Tibbetts’ sight, Bahena Rivera testified. The man armed with the knife got out of the car for 10 to 12 minutes, while the other sat in the back seat.

Bahena Rivera told the jury he heard the man in the back seat mutter to himself while they awaited the other man’s return to the car, including the phrase “come on, Jack.” The man with the knife then returned, Bahena Rivera said, put something heavy in the trunk and told Bahena Rivera to drive them away.

The men, whom he’d never seen before that night, he testified, then threatened the safety of Bahena Rivera’s family if he dared speak up, including his girlfriend and then-3-year-old daughter, and then allegedly ran off toward a gravel road.

Frightened, Bahena Rivera testified through an interpreter, he went to the car’s trunk, found Tibbetts barely alive — but in such a state that he couldn’t save her — then carried her into a cornfield where he laid her body down.

Stop right there!  I sure hope the prosecutors cross-examined him on his assessment of her ability to live if he had gotten her medical attention.

Continue here for more details of what is clearly a fantasy story.  But, sadly, it might be enough to get a hung jury.

Florida: ‘New American’ Charged with Sexual Assault of Mental Patient

I had planned to write about the political rats led by Miles Taylor today, but will wait until the 100 supposedly prominent Republicans put out their letter announcing their threat to split from the Republican Party which is supposed to happen today.

Instead….

In an on-going effort to catalog dreadful cases of abuse of our seniors/disabled and mentally disabled by immigrant workers in healthcare facilities, here is a new story from Florida.

By the way, the Open Borders propagandists continually tell us that the immigrants seeking a better life are doing the work of angels by taking care of our vulnerable citizens. Every time I see that message I think of the cases I’ve posted here in my elder abuse tag.

From Local Channel 10 News:

Employee at Hialeah psychiatric hospital accused of raping female patient

HIALEAH, Fla. – A South Florida hospital employee has been arrested on accusations that he raped a patient.

Delgado had worked at the hospital for only about 6 weeks and is being investigated for a second incident with another patient.

The crime was reported around 10:30 a.m. Monday at Southern Winds Hospital, a psychiatric care facility located at 4225 W. 20th Ave.

According to Hialeah police, Yadiel Perez Delgado, 34, entered a female patient’s room earlier in the morning and began making verbal sexual advances toward her.

The victim told officers that Perez Delgado partially closed the door and she ignored him and went into the bathroom.

She said he followed her into the bathroom and raped her.

According to the suspect’s arrest report, another patient staying in the same hospital room walked in during the incident and Perez Delgado left the room.

The victim then reported that she had been raped to a female mental health technician.

According to his arrest report, Perez Delgado denied raping the woman. Police said he admitted to digitally penetrating her but claimed that the incident was consensual.

Surveillance video from the hospital room corroborated the victim’s statements, authorities said.

No mention of whether the creep is in the country legally or what his credentials are for doing work with mentally impaired people.

And, as I have said previously there should be a law that women in facilities like this are taken care of only by female nurses and aides.

Connecticut: Senior Citizen Raped in Public Housing for Poor and Disabled

Editor:  I have been busy over at Refugee Resettlement Watch these days as news has picked up there now that Biden says he will attempt to move 62,500 refugees from Africa, Asia, and the Middle East to your towns before September 30th.  But, issues involving abuse of vulnerable seniors move to the top of my priority list here at ‘Frauds and Crooks.’

Although the New York Post ran the story, apparently the only corporate media outside of CT to do so, I chose the New Canaan Advertiser report:

‘The whole thing is horrific’: West Haven apartment complex promises increased security after alleged sexual assault of elderly woman

WEST HAVEN — In the wake of the alleged sexual assault of a 74-year-old resident, those living in the city’s Surfside apartments are angry and fearful, and a housing authority official said some immediate changes would be implemented, including increased security.

But residents of the building at 200 Oak St. — apartments for seniors, the disabled and others — say it’s too little too late, as they have been complaining of lax security for years.

[….]

Security is being increased at the building and future safety measures are in the works, said Savin Rock Communities/Housing Authority Executive Director John Counter.

“The whole thing is horrific,” he said of the alleged sexual assault. “I’ve got an 82-year-old mother and an 89-year-old father. I can’t imagine the trauma of getting whipped around by a …strongman.”

The sexual assault victim is hospitalized and police said she may have suffered a heart attack as a result of the incident.

Giani Morales is described as a Massachusetts man, but where is he really from? Could he be a ‘Dreamer?’

The suspect, Giani Morales, 27, of Massachusetts is being held in lieu of $1.25 million bail per order of a judge in Milford who oversaw Morales’ arraignment.

“This is one of the most appalling scenarios that I have read in a police report in the 25-plus years that I have been a judge,” Judge Maureen Dennis told Morales in court.

Morales is charged with first-degree sexual assault, home invasion, first-degree burglary, third-degree assault of an elderly person and third-degree assault.

[….]

According to a police report, Morales allegedly exposed himself to the woman while near the building’s elevators, then pushed her inside her apartment and assaulted her. The woman was hospitalized after the incident, potentially having suffered a heart attack, according to Assistant State’s Attorney Alanna Paul.

Pennsylvania: Missing Amish Girl’s Body Found

Eighteen-year-old Linda Stoltzfoos had not been seen since last June when her family reported her missing.  She was walking home from church in the Bird-in-Hand section of Lancaster in the heart of Pennsylvania’s Amish country.

Some early media accounts speculated she had run away from her community.  The go-to position for woke types?

Rest in peace

You may have seen this story.  I usually prefer to post news you might not see elsewhere, but this one, although widely covered, really got to me.

Perhaps that is because the Amish have chosen to live a quiet God-centered life just so they could be separate from the world’s evil doers.

After reading several accounts of what happened earlier this week when the young woman’s body was found, I’ll go to my usual first choice media outlet for cases like this—the UK Daily Mail.

The man, the alleged killer, was already behind bars and charged with murder.  Even without the body, they have the goods on the “career criminal” thanks to extensive police work, DNA evidence, witnesses, cell phone data tracking, and surveillance camera evidence.

None of the reports say how authorities found the body, but I am guessing the evil creep gave them the tip as part of a plea deal to help save his hide.

UK Daily Mail:

Body wrapped in tarp and buried in 3ft grave IS missing Amish girl, 18, who vanished on way home from church: Remains were found behind workplace of man charged with murder

Human remains found during a search Wednesday are that of the missing Amish teenager who disappeared in Pennsylvania last summer, officials believe.

Linda Stoltzfoos, 18, was last seen walking home from a church service in the Bird-in-Hand area of Lancaster on on June 21 last year. She never returned home.

Justo Roberto Smoker had been adopted as a child by a family who gave him every opportunity. https://heavy.com/news/2020/07/justo-smoker/

In December last year Justo Smoker, 34, was charged with criminal homicide. Officials said then that the suspect’s DNA was discovered on the victim’s stocking, which had been found buried in the woods alongside her bra.

He had moved her body

Lancaster County DA Heather Adams said Thursday they now believe Stoltzfoos was killed within hours of her kidnap and initially buried at that location before her body was moved to where it was found Wednesday.

The remains were found buried more than three feet down and wrapped in a tarp behind Dutchland Incorporated, the former workplace of Smoker in a rural area in the eastern part of Lancaster County, she said.

A a dress, bonnet and shoes matching what Linda was last seen in were also found. Prosecutors noted that Wednesday marked exactly 10 months since Stoltzfoos disappeared.”

More here.

An autopsy is to be performed today.

Some reports I read indicated that Smoker’s car had been seen in the area in the days before Linda went missing as if he was out looking for a victim.

As is the usual case, we are not told if Smoker, who was supposedly living on the street when he was adopted, was born in this country.
