Southern Poverty Law Center Publishes “Extremist File” on Trump Advisor Stephen Miller

The SPLC actually does us a service by letting us know more about White House advisor Stephen Miller, one of the few Trump advisors to survive nearly four years in the President’s orbit.

Of course the SPLC doesn’t publish its “Extremist File” for our benefit (they use it to scare money out of gullible rich people***), but I found this an interesting read.  All you have to do is skip over the writer’s snark and spin and find the events of Miller’s life edifying.

I had to laugh especially when the SPLC blasts Miller for supporting the Duke Lacrosse players when rape allegations ruined their lives, but never mentions that the players were exonerated and Miller was right!

Editor:  I had this post ready to go early yesterday before my internet went out for the third time in recent months, so sorry if you have sent e-mails or comments and I missed them.  I’m back on line at least for now.

See Miller’s profile:

Stephen Miller is credited with shaping the racist and draconian immigration policies of President Trump, which include the zero-tolerance policy, also known as family separation, the Muslim ban and ending the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. Miller has also “purged” government agencies of civil servants who are not entirely loyal to his extremist agenda, according to a report in Vanity Fair.

Miller with former boss Senator Jeff Sessions. “In the spring of 2013, Miller and Sessions played a key role in ensuring the failure of a comprehensive immigration bill introduced by a bipartisan group of senators who became known as the Gang of Eight. “

And during the COVID-19 crisis, the Trump administration’s decision to halt the issuance of new green cards is yet another example of its hard line on immigration.

Through the conscious use of fearmongering and xenophobia, Miller implements policies which demonize immigrants, regardless of their immigration status, in an apparent effort to halt all forms of immigration to the United States.

[….]

Through his connections to the anti-Muslim movement, Miller landed his first job in Washington, D.C. as a staffer on Capitol Hill. In less than a decade, Miller would go from a congressional staffer to an adviser to the Trump campaign.

During this time, Miller influenced the editorial direction of the highly trafficked conservative website Breitbart.com, sharing white nationalist and anti-immigrant propaganda with their editors in an effort to buoy Trump’s run, according to leaked emails reviewed by Hatewatch. His role in the campaign included crafting then-candidate Trump’s nativist immigration platform, writing campaign speeches as well as being the opening speaker during rallies.

[….]

At a June 16, 2016, campaign rally in Dallas, Miller’s speech made clear the campaign then-candidate Trump was going to run and foreshadowed the nativist policies Miller and the administration would eventually pursue.

In speaking about the impact of undocumented immigrants in the U.S., Miller said, “You’ve seen what it does to living standards. You’ve seen what it does to wages. You’ve seen what it does in terms of transnational cartels. You’ve seen what it has done to the innocent victims of illegal immigrant crime … You have seen the death. You have seen the needless destruction because we can’t secure this border.”

Miller’s use of the state to vilify immigrants has led to calls for his resignation. After Hatewatch’s investigative reporting verified Miller’s white nationalist perspective, more than 80 Democratic members of Congress called for his resignation. Opposition to Miller and his agenda have also surfaced within the rank-and-file civil servants who are charged with discharging the administration’s policies.

Continue here.

If you are new to the immigration restriction movement, you will learn a lot from the SPLC’s hit on Miller.

***But, it is more than scaring money out of rich people, a hit piece like this is meant to remind you that this will happen to you too if you dare stick your neck out and do or say anything like what Miller has said and done.

NY Times Editor Resigns; No Diversity of Opinion Allowed

If you are like me and saw this story yesterday, you probably said, well heck I knew that, and moved on to more interesting reading.

However, reader Cathy sent me the newly unemployed editor’s letter to AG Sulzberger and I found it a very worthwhile read, so I’m posting a bit of it here with a link to the whole stinging rebuke, of not just the NYT, but of most of the legacy media today.

If you don’t know about the controversy here is a story by Howard Kurtz of Fox News today.

Message to you (and to me!), if they are calling you a “Nazi” and a “racist” wear the label with pride because it means you have gotten under their skin.

Bari Weiss to the NYT:

(with a little emphasis from me)

Dear AG,

It is with sadness that I write to tell you that I am resigning from The New York Times.

[….]

But the lessons that ought to have followed the election—lessons about the importance of understanding other Americans, the necessity of resisting tribalism, and the centrality of the free exchange of ideas to a democratic society—have not been learned. Instead, a new consensus has emerged in the press, but perhaps especially at this paper: that truth isn’t a process of collective discovery, but an orthodoxy already known to an enlightened few whose job is to inform everyone else.

Twitter is not on the masthead of The New York Times. But Twitter has become its ultimate editor. As the ethics and mores of that platform have become those of the paper, the paper itself has increasingly become a kind of performance space. Stories are chosen and told in a way to satisfy the narrowest of audiences, rather than to allow a curious public to read about the world and then draw their own conclusions. I was always taught that journalists were charged with writing the first rough draft of history. Now, history itself is one more ephemeral thing molded to fit the needs of a predetermined narrative.

[….]

My own forays into Wrongthink have made me the subject of constant bullying by colleagues who disagree with my views. They have called me a Nazi and a racist…

[….]

I do not understand how you have allowed this kind of behavior to go on inside your company in full view of the paper’s entire staff and the public. And I certainly can’t square how you and other Times leaders have stood by while simultaneously praising me in private for my courage. Showing up for work as a centrist at an American newspaper should not require bravery.

Part of me wishes I could say that my experience was unique. But the truth is that intellectual curiosity—let alone risk-taking—is now a liability at The Times. Why edit something challenging to our readers, or write something bold only to go through the numbing process of making it ideologically kosher, when we can assure ourselves of job security (and clicks) by publishing our 4000th op-ed arguing that Donald Trump is a unique danger to the country and the world? And so self-censorship has become the norm.

Keep reading, it gets even better.

Candace Owens Asks: What Does Black America Want?

“Do we want to be able to point to the white boogeyman?”

This is required watching today!

I heard Ms. Owens speak in person in 2018 and she is a remarkable woman.

Here she is yesterday in a 17 minute video on the Candace Owens Show at Prager University.  Hat tip: Paul

She says what most of you are thinking, but can’t say!

Help keep Prager U. alive and on the worldwide web by making a donation.

Changing the subject (a little).

Just now when I went to Merriam Webster to confirm the spelling of ‘boogeyman,’ I was stunned to see this sentence example given for the use of the word.

Are on-line dictionaries fueling the left’s narrative?  It seems so.

Here is a screenshot! Far-right fringe groups!

The link sends readers to a story on conspiracy theories surrounding the death of George Floyd. The article’s author and Merriam Webster want to be sure readers get the message that Soros has had nothing to do with the recent anti-police protest riots.

Recent Examples on the Web?  WTH! Now just for fun, search “boogeyman” on the web and see if the Soros reference even comes up.

Minnesota: Machete “Man” Arrested, No Name Provided

***Update*** Machete man identified—white guy named Olson!  Read all about it!  Photo included!

LOL! It was last year’s Minnesota Machete Man I had in mind!  See here.

Move along, nothing to see!

Whoever this “man” is who brandished a machete and chased three children in Waite Park, MN on Thursday, he is 28 years old and no reason to withhold his name. He is not a minor in need of protection.

If anyone still wonders why we have no faith in the media, this is one reason why.

Immediately, and under the present circumstances not just in Minnesota and everywhere in America where racial tension is high, one becomes suspicious when incidents like this occur and we are not given the facts.

I assume if his name was Anderson or Johnson, the 28-year-old would have been named!  I could be wrong, but nevertheless this is news for a blog like this (whoever he is!).

From CBS Minnesota (hat tip: Bob):

Man Accused Of Chasing Children With Machete In Waite Park

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — A 28-year-old Waite Park man is in jail accused of chasing children with a machete Thursday.

We have come to expect no photo for alleged attackers like this, but no name for a 28-year-old who was arrested in the crime?

According to Waite Park police, officers were dispatched at 9:18 p.m. to the 200 block of 3rd Street South in Waite Park. They were responding to the report of a “male with a machete who had been chasing kids in the courtyard.”

While en route, officers were advised by dispatch that someone at the same address was reporting that someone pointed a gun at them.

After arriving on the scene, police determined that the suspect had been in the courtyard over the prior few days chopping at a tree with a machete. Police said he was chopping at the tree Thursday when, at some point, he stopped and began chasing three children who were playing nearby.

When one of the children advised a parent of the situation, they confronted the suspect. While the parent was speaking to the suspect, the suspect reached into his pocket, so the parent “became afraid and brandished a gun”, police said.

The suspect allegedly told police at the scene that the parent pointed a gun at his head. However, police said a gun was never pointed at him.

The suspect was then arrested for second-degree assault and taken to Stearns County Jail.

As soon as someone finds his name I will report—even if he is a machete-owning Anderson or Johnson!  (LOL!  He is an Olson! See update above!).

Endnote:  Where are the environmentalists?  For Pete’s sake, he was hacking at a tree for days after all!

Maryland: Another Hate Crime Hoax Exposed, Racist Graffiti Writer is Black

“[I]t’s hang a [n-word] month.”

(Jerome Kevin Jackson)

You might see this news in a few local news reports and here at the The College Fix, but it won’t be news trumpeted by the New York Times or CNN!

(Hat tip: Aileen)

CONFIRMED: Vandal behind racist graffiti at Salisbury University … is black

Salisbury University experienced massive racial unrest after a series of racist graffiti was discovered on campus over the course of the 2019-20 school year.

The public, Maryland-based university canceled classes for a “day of healing” and hired a new associate vice president for diversity and inclusion at a cost of $140,000 annually.

Authorities have had a suspect since February but refused comment to The College Fix on details. Turns out, the vandal is black.

The man who is scheduled to plead guilty to the vandalism has been charged under a hate-crime statute. His motives for the defacement remain unclear at this time.

Jerome Kevin Jackson, 54, is set to plead guilty June 12 to maliciously defacing school property “while exhibiting racial animosity,”according to a news release from the Office of the State’s Attorney for Wicomico County published Monday.

The release states Jackson is responsible for four incidents of “racist and sometimes gender discriminatory graffiti” on campus during the fall semester as well as another incident in February 2020 in which the words “it’s hang a [n-word] month” were scrawled on a wall with black marker.

Here are 50 campus hate-crime hoaxes The College Fix has covered since 2012

Required viewing for Mr. Jackson and his ilk!

A day or so ago reader Linda sent me this incredible Youtube video in which an African American man lectures his fellow blacks (and whites).

Maybe a judge could use messages like this when sentencing people like Mr. Jackson.

LOL! Make him watch this a few dozen times! (In addition to whatever other punishment he must get).

Watch! It is just under ten minutes.
