TX Naval Base Shooter was Syrian Jihadist, See How He Became a New American

First, here is an account of what happened on Thursday.

From WFXR-TV:

Group: Texas naval base shooter voiced support for clerics

The suspect killed during what the FBI is calling a “terrorism-related” attack at a Texas naval air base voiced support for hardline clerics, according to a group that monitors online activity of jihadists.

This undated handout photo provided by Del Mar College, Texas, shows Adam Alsahli’s image for his student identification card.

The attack Thursday at Naval Air Station Corpus Christi wounded a sailor and left the gunman dead. The gunman was identified on Friday by the FBI as 20-year-old Adam Salim Alsahli of Corpus Christi. He had been a business major at a local community college.

The gunman tried to speed through a security gate at Naval Air Station Corpus Christi, opening fire and wounding the sailor, a member of base security, U.S. officials told the AP. But she was able to roll over and hit a switch that raised a barrier, preventing the man from getting onto the base, the officials said.

Other security personnel shot and killed the attacker.

So, if you are guessing it was a student visa that permitted him to be living among us, you would be wrong.

Todd Bensman, writing at the Center for Immigration Studies describes one more way that our immigration system is too loose making us vulnerable to those arriving here from Islamic regions of the world and wishing to harm us.

A new national security vulnerability

The Syria-born attacker killed Thursday morning during an apparent jihad-inspired attack on a Texas naval air station was neither a resettled refugee nor an asylum-seeker who slipped through security vetting. Instead, CIS has learned that he fell under an immigration category unusual for foreign-born extremists who have attacked inside the United States.

Adam Alsahli, 20 at the time of his death Thursday, was already a U.S. citizen when he moved from the Middle East to Corpus Christi, Texas, in 2014 with his mother (and likely several siblings) at the height of the Syrian civil war, by virtue of his father’s American citizenship, according to two sources familiar with the family’s immigration status.

The attacker’s 75-year-old father, Salim Alsahli, became a naturalized U.S. citizen in 1984, the sources told CIS, and subsequently seems to have sired a family back in Syria that included Adam Alsahli’s birth in 1999.

Although his children and their mother were born in and resided in the Middle East, the father’s U.S. citizenship conferred U.S. citizenship on Adam Alsahli, since he properly registered a declaration at a U.S. embassy or consulate office overseas. That apparently happened with Adam Alsahli because by the age of three, in the year 2002, he was granted an American passport that was repeatedly renewed over the years, sources said.

In 2014, at the height of the civil war inside Syria, Adam and at least his mother moved to the United States. The mother is currently a legal permanent resident who has a pending application for U.S. citizenship, the sources said.

With an American citizen father anchored inside the United States, Adam Alsahli, his siblings, and their mother would not have entered any refugee resettlement pipeline, nor would they have had to apply for asylum, processes that would have required fairly extensive security vetting. Adam Alsahli, then about 15 years old, would have been moved right to the front of the line with almost no security vetting; likely the same would have been true of his mother and siblings.

Little is known at this point about Alsahli’s interest in Islamic extremist theology or connections to foreign groups, as the FBI continues an investigation. Nor is it yet known where the family was living prior to entering the United States in 2014.

Google Making it Harder to Find News the Left Doesn’t want You to See

Less than a week ago I told you about how Facebook is blocking sites like VDARE that apparently the woke and oh-so-smart people at Facebook don’t like, and it is no surprise to see Google hard at work doing the same.

Here is Robert Spencer, whose blog Jihad Watch has been the go-to site for the latest news about the ‘religion of peace’ for going on two decades, finding the site buried by Google.

And, look who is here—Imam-extraordinaire Omar Suleiman!

From Frontpage magazine (hat tip: Judy):

Google Erases the Existence of Those Who Speak Unwelcome Truths

http://www.danielgreenfield.org/

Daniel Greenfield, the peerless Shillman Fellow and FrontPage writer, tweeted the news on May 7: “Google just erased my Sultan Knish blog and Front Page Mag articles from the first pages of results for my name doubt very much this is accidental.”

I did too, so I checked for myself, and sure enough: a Google search for “Robert Spencer” now does not bring up Jihad Watch, where most of my writing outside of books has been published for the last seventeen years, but it does give you defamatory and distorted attack pieces from the far-Left Southern Poverty Law Center*** and the Saudi-funded Bridge Initiative, and nothing that doesn’t portray me and my work in the most unfavorable possible light.

This latest example of the tech giants’ determination to silence all dissenting voices reveals one often overlooked fact: they are desperately afraid.

Suleiman arrested with CAIR and Linda Sarsour as they protested Trump refugee policies and blocked a corridor on Capital Hill. See my post just a week ago about Suleiman: https://fraudscrookscriminals.com/2020/05/10/islamist-watch-warning-beware-woke-muslims/

Google is so afraid of Jihad Watch, in fact, that it is going to great lengths to make you think that the site (which you can find here) doesn’t exist at all.

Several years ago, under pressure from the Texas-based imam Omar Suleiman, Google changed the algorithm for its search results so as to bury anything critical of Islamic jihad violence or Sharia oppression of women. Jihad Watch, which for years had been the first result in a Google search for “jihad” (back when Google searches were based solely on relevance and the popularity of the site), fell off the front page of “jihad” searches.

Now Google has gone even farther to make sure you don’t see Jihad Watch. Just this morning, I was looking for an old Jihad Watch article from a few years ago that I needed for a citation, and I entered an exact phrase from that article into the Google search bar. What came back were two sites where the article had been republished, but no indication that it had ever been at Jihad Watch at all.

In George Orwell’s dystopian novel of a totalitarian society, 1984, to which far more people refer than have actually read the book, the dissenter Winston Smith’s job in the Ministry of Truth involves erasing from all historical records any mention of people who have been declared “nonpersons.” Foes of the regime aren’t just vilified. Their very existence is erased. Dissent is easy to control if all record of it ever having been enunciated is eradicated, and Google has apparently taken a page from Orwell’s book.

Of course, Jihad Watch is one of the least of the concerns of Big Tech. They’re erasing all manner of people who dissent from the Leftist agenda. Greenfield notes that “Google controls 80% of search. That means it controls what the internet looks like. And it’s continuing to erase conservatives from the internet. I’m just the latest victim. Its censorship and creepy surveillance have reached new heights during the pandemic.”

And help may be on the way….

*** One of the funniest things I ever read from someone who had newly been labeled a hate GROUP by the Southern Poverty Law Center was Daniel Greenfield’s post in 2012  when he learned he (with his blog Sultan Knish) had been added to the SPLC’s Hate GROUP list.

HOW I BECAME A HATE GROUP

Here are just a few snips:

When I went to sleep last night, little did I know that while outside sirens competed with car alarms in the symphony that is New York City, I had already been declared a hate group.

Being declared a hate group wasn’t in my plans for the day, but like winning the lottery, it seems to be one of those things that happens when you least expect it. Except that as the little bald man in front of the bodega tells you, you have to play to win, but you don’t even have to buy a ticket to be declared an official hate group.

My first response on finding out that I was now a hate group was to look around to see where everyone else was. A hate group needs the “group” part, and one man and a cat don’t seem to be enough. Even when the cat is a well known bigot who hates mice, birds, car alarms that go off in the middle of the night, the plumber and sudden noises.

Still the Southern Poverty Law Center had listed, “Sultan Knish a blog by Daniel Greenfield” as one of their “Active Anti-Muslim Hate Groups…”

I suppose I found this so funny because the SPLC has done the same to me (I have a cat) too!

Once again, as I mentioned here recently, they have labelled my other blog Refugee Resettlement Watch (which is just me) a hate GROUP.

Clearly, the mainstream media never questions their research and is willingly led around by their noses.

Never Let a Good H-1B Visa Go to Waste!

Todd Bensman writing at the Center for Immigration Studies does a deep dive into the case I reported here in March of the Mayo Clinic doctor who wanted to kill kuffar.

Thanks to ‘meanymom’ for catching the story from a week ago.

How’s that vetting going?

Muhammad Masood

During his two years working as a “research coordinator” on an H-1B visa for the Rochester, Minn., Mayo Clinic, Pakistani medical doctor Muhammad Masood allegedly saw himself as having gotten “behind enemy lines” where “not many people cant [sic] even reach here to attack.”

A federal criminal complaint almost lost in the nation’s Corona-19 virus crisis alleges that Masood planned from the day he arrived in America on his H-1B visa in February 2018 that he would use the rare access it afforded to learn something useful about his enemies so as to conduct violent jihad in line with his perceived religious duty.

By January and February 2020, according to the complaint, the 28-year-old was messaging on an encrypted platform about how sick he had grown of smiling every day at the “passing kuffar”, a derogatory term for non-Muslims that often justifies execution. All the smiling was “just not to make them suspicios [sic] … I cannot tolerate it anymore.”

He messaged that he could not let his H-1B visa go to waste. “Sometimes I wantto [sic] attack enemy when I am behind enemy linea [sic] itself,” he messaged in January. “[I] wonder if I will miss the opportunity of attacking the enemy when I was in the middle of it.”

By the grace of an undercover FBI investigation, Masood will do no such thing.

Agents arrested Masood on March 19. By then, he had changed the plan from attacking the local kuffars he hated so much to joining ISIS in northeast Iran and Afghanistan, or in Syria as a medic, or maybe engineering drones “and also fight”. It’s unclear why he changed his mind about attack on U.S. soil.

So we aren’t producing enough docs and need to be welcoming the likes of Masood?

Is Muslim Who Murdered Three Women in Tennessee Responsible for Another Attempted Murder?

This is an update of the story I posted a week ago from Tennessee about how a man described as a truck driver, for reasons supposedly still unknown, stabbed to death three women at a Pilot truck stop in Knox County.

Mama says he wasn’t mentally ill!  Seems that leaves only one explanation, right!

From the Commercial Appeal:

Did Knox County Pilot attacker commit another stabbing in Millington?

Did the man who killed three employees at a Pilot Travel Center in Knox County also stab a nurse nearly to death outside a mental health clinic in Millington, Tennessee?

Millington Police Chief Mark Dunbar said a mugshot of Idris Abdus-Salaam, the 33-year-old deemed responsible for last week’s triple homicide, resembles a sketch of the man who committed perhaps the most bizarre, brutal attack he’s seen in his decades-long career.

Left: A booking photo of suspected Pilot attacker Idris Abdus-Salaam when he was arrested for felony evading arrest in Raleigh North Carolina, in 2018. Right: A police sketch of an unidentified man who stabbed a nurse in Millington, Tennessee, in 2019. https://www.knoxnews.com/story/news/crime/2020/04/16/no-evidence-so-far-tying-pilot-attacker-west-tennessee-stabbing/5137679002/

[….]

No one else witnessed the attack, Dunbar said. No camera caught it on video.

Investigators had nothing to go on but the words of a woman who had been stabbed over and over by a man she had never met.

Still, the nurse did well in helping police create a sketch of her attacker, Dunbar said.

The chief stressed that, although he believes the sketch resembles a 2018 booking photo of Abdus-Salaam, “that doesn’t mean it’s the same individual. We’re working with TBI trying to backtrack this,” he added, “and there may not be anything to it.”

Although police said at the time the Millington suspect might have been mentally ill, that statement was based more on common sense than concrete evidence, Dunbar said.

“If you stab somebody that you don’t know,” the chief said, “you’ve got a problem.”

Much remains unknown about Abdus-Salaam and what sparked the attack at the Pilot. Authorities said he killed Joyce Whaley, 57; Patricia Denise Nibbe, 51; and Nettie Spencer, 41.

Abdus-Salaam’s mother, Walidah Abdus-Salaam, told Knox News his family had no indication he was mentally ill. She described her son as a practicing Muslim and said she didn’t believe he had become radicalized by any sort of religious fanaticism.

The TBI initially described Abdus-Salaam as a truck driver from Durham, North Carolina, but on Wednesday wouldn’t comment on the details of his employment history.

The agency also declined to comment on whether he had ever been treated at a mental facility, as well as whether mental illness might have been a factor in the violence.

“That is part of our investigation,” a spokeswoman said in response to several questions from Knox News.

Tennessee: NC Truck Driver Stabs Three Women to Death at Pilot Truck Stop

His name is Idris Abdus-Salaam.  Jihad Watch says he is a Muslim.  Convert or immigrant is not clear.

As usual, the UK Daily Mail has pretty good coverage and photos of the poor women who lost their lives.  They were already risking their lives by working to provide the truckers America needs so much right now with meals.

And, to lose their lives so violently is sickening.

Scene of the slaughter. Pilot truck stops are owned by Jimmy Haslam, the older brother of former TN governor Bill Haslam. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jimmy_Haslam

From the Daily Mail:

Idris Abdus-Salaam was shot and killed by police at the scene. No motive for the attack has been reported, although Jihad Watch suggests one. Was he a jihadist? I suspect we will never know.

A truck driver from North Carolina has been identified as the man who fatally stabbed three women and wounded a fourth at a Tennessee truck stop this morning, before a deputy shot and killed him after he refused to drop his knife.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation on Tuesday afternoon identified the suspect in the stabbings at the Pilot Travel Center on Strawberry Plains Pike off Interstate 40 as 33-year-old Idris Abdus-Salaam, from Durham, North Carolina.

The Knox County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call at 7am at the truck stop to find a woman with stab wounds outside the store and a man armed with a knife in the parking lot, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said in a statement.

Grandmother Joyce Whaley

Authorities found in all four stabbing victims. Three were pronounced dead at the scene from their wounds and the fourth was taken to a hospital for treatment.

The victims include Pilot employees identified by TBI as Joyce Whaley, 57; Patricia Nibbe, 51, and Nettie Spencer, 41.

Investigators were still working to determine a motive for the deadly attack, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation spokeswoman Leslie Earhart said.
