They want to display their voting power as their population continues to expand….
No big revelations here. I just wanted you to see what CAIR is doing and sayingabout the November election where they are pulling out all the stops to get Muslims to the polls.
CAIR estimates there are well over 1 million registered American Muslim voters in the United States, with large communities residing in key swing states. A recent CAIR survey indicates that 89% of registered Muslim voters intend to vote in the November 3rd General Election.
Muslims Vote has a very handy Voter Guide. If you are not sure about the rules in your state, you can check their guide for when voter registration ends and when and where you can vote in person.
Muslims Voteand CAIRare pushing their people to vote by mail, however ballots by mail must be filled out properly and mailed properly with lots of opportunities for mistakes that could disqualify the ballot.
By the way, that is why you should vote in person either on election day or at an early voting location where your vote is being recorded at an official election site.
In another in my series of posts I’m calling ‘Down the Memory Hole’—forgotten because the media doesn’t really want to report anything that doesn’t fit their ‘world view,’ I wondered whatever happened to Congressional candidateAmani al-Khatahtbeh.
Back in April she complained that someone called her home with a message:
On the evening of April 21, Al-Khatahtbeh reportedly received a phone call from an unknown number threatening to kill her and her family. She received the threat shortly after a virtual town hall she hosted on Instagram.
The caller said in part: “Your parents live at [address]. I will f**king kill them and. . .I will torture them and feed them bacon and f**king pork…As soon as you get off the phone, I’ll f**king go to his house…“Ni**er, you’re Muslim, you f**king ugly Arab Muslim. You terrorist.”
Not only did CAIR jump on the bandwagon with its Islamophobe dog whistle but she garnered the support of dozens of prominent women who came to her defense.
Yesterday I went to see if I could find out whether the perpetrator of the death threats had been identified and guess what I found—NOTHING!
Not a mention that I could find about whether there was even any investigation of the allegations. But you see it almost doesn’t matter if the call even happened because it was planted in the minds of those following the story that there was such a despicable person (and he surely must be a redneck Trumpster!).
Maybe I didn’t look hard enough, maybe you can find the truth about whether hers is another hate crime hoax, but in the meantime down the memory hole it goes…..
I know, nothing you didn’t already assume, but I’m posting this to encourage you to follow the opposition. Knowledge is power!
Sign up, as reader Bob did, and receive regular missives from those groups working to transform America, two prime examples being the Southern Poverty Law Center and the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR).
As I have reported recently, there is tension between Arab/South Asian Muslims and blacks so the leadership at CAIR obviously determined that it needed to suck up to BLM.
See CAIR unfurl its banner over its Washington, DC headquarters:
And now see them chortling over a couple of white scalps in California.
Here see Ibrahim Hooper cheer the removal of California school officials whose facebook posts offended them.
CAIR Central CA Welcomes School Officials’ Resignations after Bigoted Posts
(FRESNO, CA, 6/25/20) – The Central California office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-CC) today welcomed the recent resignations of two school officials after they posted bigoted content on their Facebook pages.
Fresno’s Central Unified School District trustee Richard Atkins came under fire for a bigoted Facebook post he shared last weekend. He posted,
“If you don’t Love the Country you live in, then go back to the country you or your ancestors came from. I’m SICK of this S***.”
He resigned Tuesday from his position.
At the beginning of this week, the private Facebook account of Sara Wilkins, the president of the Madera County Board of Education, shared an image of a Confederate flag and stated: “I am proud to be white.” The post also read, “I bet no one passes this on because they are scared of be called a racist.”
A change.org petition, “Sara Wilkins needs to step down, resign, or be fired,” gained more than 1,500 signatures.
The Madera County Superintendent of Schools announced Wilkins’ resignation Thursday. In a statement, CAIR-CC Outreach Director Sukaina Hussain said: “We welcome the resignations of these public officials after their disturbing posts.
You will find a ‘sign-up’ opportunity on CAIR’s website. It is extremely useful to know what they are doing.
It is about silencing you and making you fearful, an important first step in their goal to destroy our cherished American way of life.
It probably isn’t just Virginia. I suspect their campaign is nationwide.
However, here is the Council on American Islamic Relationspress release from Friday targeting Virginians. (Hat tip: Bob)
CAIR is very busy these days while we are hunkered down and hiding from a virus.
(WASHINGTON, D.C., 5/15/2020) — The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, is calling on all Virginian Muslims to consider applying to one of Virginia’s 774 open state boards and commissions.
“Virginian Muslims interested in becoming more civilly involved in their communities and wanting to ensure the effective representation of Muslims in the government should consider applying to the hundreds of appointment openings that continually need filling, “said CAIR Director of Government Affairs Robert S. McCaw.
See what McCaw has to say about how he came to CAIR:
Press statement continues:
The Virginia Secretary of the Commonwealth’s boards and commissions website lists 774 board seats that are currently vacant, as well as the seats with terms that will expire this year.
The seat descriptions indicate if there is a specific requirement for that seat (a specific profession, consumer, someone who lives in a certain congressional district, etc.).
If there is only a number listed (Seat 7), there is no specific criteria for that seat. A “citizen” seat requires someone who is not affiliated with that profession.
For more information on the boards and commissions listed below see the Virginia Blue Book.
CAIR is America’s largest Muslim civil liberties and advocacy organization. Its mission is to enhance understanding of Islam, protect civil rights, promote justice, and empower American Muslims.
Calling ALL Virginians (especially you educated retirees!), why not check the list and see if there is a board or commission post where you might be able to contribute your talents!
Have a look at the list linked above—one appealing board that needs members is the ‘Office of New Americans.’ Surely they would allow one white/European ancestry person on the board!
Since I had previously devoted some attention to immigrant-pushing Islamic cleric Imam Omar Suleiman this post at Islamist Watchby Sam Westrop jumped out at me this morning as I did my usual perusal of the news looking for items that I think would interest you.
Westrop points out that the Salafistshave not needed to change (or pretend to change) in Europe because the Muslim population there is high enough to push their ‘purist’ agenda without ‘modifying’ their hardcore beliefs, but in the US the population is not high enough (yet!) so they need the Leftwingers, the Progressive Dems, to essentially hide behind.
One of those clever pretenders is Suleiman. I wrote about him working with Church World Service and CAIR in March of 2018 to protest Trump’s refugee slowdown. See here.
Flexible Salafis
The Growing Political Power of ‘Woke,’ Modernist Islamism
Imam Omar Suleiman rarely talks about da’wah – the Islamic duty of proselytization. He never talks about Islamist designs for an Islamic state. Instead, America’s leading Islamic cleric speaks about broad political change, employing the language and ideas of progressivism.
In fact, Suleiman, president of the Yaqeen Institute, is not just a preacher; he is an activist, found often in front of TV cameras, speaking before Congress, or being arrested on Capitol Hill at protests against the Trump administration’s policies.
His success is surprising. Suleiman is one of a number of popular clerics who emerged from a network centered around the AlMaghrib Institute, a Salafi-founded organization dedicated to a hardline strain of Islam. Its own extremism is incontrovertible. Founder Muhammad Alshareef once wrote a paper titled “Why the Jews Were Cursed,” in which he claims Jews control the media and murder prophets. Other leading Almaghrib clerics include Abdullah Hakim Quick, who calls for the killing of homosexuals and urges God to “purify” Al-Aqsa from the “filth of the Yahud [Jews],” and “clean Afghanistan and Iraq” from the “filth of the Kafiroun [unbelievers].”
Suleiman’s rhetoric has at times been just as extreme. Around 2014, he was busy beseeching the ummah to rise up and act against the forces that threatened Islam. He praised a newer generation of “awakened” Muslim youth, and lauded the piety and commitment of the people of Gaza. And he criticized those who were “too lazy” to boycott the “Zionist regime,” claiming such activism by a committed few had already cost the Israelis over 8 billion dollars.
But as his fame grew, his tactics changed. Whereas once Suleiman excused the killing of adulterers and denounced homosexuality as a “repugnant shameless sin,” today he is an ardent advocate for political alliances with the progressive Left, including “LGBT” movements. In lectures and quasi-academic essays, Suleiman and Yaqeen now promote Islam as a force for “social justice.”
Instead of talking just about refugees from Gaza or Syria, Suleiman is today also found at the border with Mexico – equipped with journalists and their cameras – to embrace non-Muslim emigrants and loudly protest the Trump administration’s policies.
And rather than remain just a regular fixture on the Islamist conference circuit, Suleiman today finds himself introduced to Congress by Nancy Pelosi, and given a platform at Bernie Sanders’ campaign rallies, to talk about the “promise of America … an America that resists the forces of bigotry … the forces of greed … that distract us from corrupt billionaires.”
Omar Suleiman is both the Left’s talking-point and its talking-head.
He is no longer issuing parochial calls for an awakened Muslim youth, but he has become part of a broader hard Left movement that claims to be building a utopia for all.
