Dennis Prager: Now I understand the “good Germans”

I am hearing stories from friends who tell me in recent days that they know people being fired from their jobs for having attended the Trump rally on Wednesday, or their businesses have been attacked in some way.  And last night among other insults, Big Tech has conspired to take down Parler, an alternative to Twitter that just banned Trump forever.

Another friend said, “it is all happening much faster than we expected.”  “It” being the totalitarian impulse to silence all opposing voices.

Remember this: BLM bully telling people they must raise their fists in support of BLM. Today’s “good Germans” do what they are told!” https://www.dcclothesline.com/2020/08/26/blm-activists-scream-at-white-couple-dining-outside-in-dc-for-not-raising-black-power-fist/

So Dennis Prager’s commentary at Townhall comes as America’s crisis ramps up (hat tip: Cathy):

I Now Better Understand the ‘Good German’

As my listeners and readers can hopefully attest, I have been on a lifelong quest to understand human nature and human behavior. I am sad to report that I have learned more in the last few years, particularly in 2020, than in any equivalent period of time.

One of the biggest revelations concerns a question that has always plagued me: How does one explain the “good German,” the term used to describe the average, presumably decent German, who did nothing to hurt Jews but also did nothing to help them and did nothing to undermine the Nazi regime? The same question could be asked about the average Frenchman during the Vichy era, the average Russian under Lenin, Joseph Stalin, Leonid Brezhnev and their successors, and the millions of others who did nothing to help their fellow citizens under oppressive dictatorships.

These past few years have taught me not to so quickly judge the quiet German, Russian, etc. Of course, I still judge Germans who helped the Nazis and Germans who in any way hurt Jews. But the Germans who did nothing? Not so fast.

What has changed my thinking has been watching what is happening in America (and Canada and Australia and elsewhere, for that matter).

The ease with which tens of millions of Americans have accepted irrational, unconstitutional and unprecedented police state-type restrictions on their freedoms, including even the freedom to make a living, has been, to understate the case, sobering.

The same holds true for the acceptance by most Americans of the rampant censorship on Twitter and all other major social media platforms. Even physicians and other scientists are deprived of freedom of speech if, for example, they offer scientific support for hydroxychloroquine along with zinc to treat COVID-19 in the early stages. Board-certified physician Dr. Vladimir Zelenko, who has saved hundreds of COVID-19 patients from suffering and/or death, has been banned from Twitter for publicizing his lifesaving hydroxychloroquine and zinc protocol.

Half of America, the non-left half, is afraid to speak their minds at virtually every university, movie studio and large corporation — indeed, at virtually every place of work. Professors who say anything that offends the left fear being ostracized if they have tenure and being fired if they do not. People are socially ostracized, publicly shamed and/or fired for differing with Black Lives Matter, as America-hating and white-hating a group as has ever existed. And few Americans speak up. On the contrary, when BLM protestors demand that diners outside of restaurants raise their fists to show their support of BLM, nearly every diner does.

So, then, who are we to condemn the average German who faced the Gestapo if he didn’t salute Hitler or the average Russian who faced the NKVD (the secret police and intelligence agency that preceded the KGB) if he didn’t demonstrate sufficient enthusiasm for Stalin? Americans face the left’s cancel culture, but not left-wing secret police or reeducation camps. (At least not yet — I have little doubt the left would send outspoken conservatives to reeducation camps if they could.)

I have come to understand the average German living under Nazism and the average Russian living under communism for another reason: the power of the media to brainwash.

Much more here.

One of the best books I’ve ever read describes how the world would not listen as Germany descended into hell. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/9938498-in-the-garden-of-beasts

On a personal note, my grandfather died in a Hitler re-education camp in 1938 on my mother’s 13th birthday.  He was a Catholic (Polish by birth), a small city bureaucrat, who had opposed the Nazi regime as it rose to power.  My mother told stories of her sister (who died a few years after her father) of listening to the BBC from an attic room to get the news from the outside, fearful of course that her neighbors living in the adjoining apartments could hear her radio and turn her in.

Prager’s piece made me cry, not so much for my family then, the “good Germans,” but for all of us now, for a once glorious and free America.

God help us!

So it begins! President Trump Banned from Twitter Permanently

The Leftist Tech Giants and their Democrat Socialist/Commie enablers may well find out what the founding fathers were getting at when they designed the First Amendment to the Constitution:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

They knew that when people are silenced and their views forced underground that violence would soon follow.

Free speech is how we blow off steam!

However, the fools now running wild in Big Tech are too young and too stupid to know what history has told us repeatedly.

From Breitbart:

Twitter Permanently Bans President Donald Trump

Twitter has permanently banned the account of the president of the United States, Donald J. Trump.

“After close review of recent Tweets from the @realDonaldTrump account and the context around them we have permanently suspended the account due to the risk of further incitement of violence,” said Twitter in a statement.

Twitter previously removed a video from the president that called on his supporters to peacefully disperse and respect law an order, which the president posted less than an hour after reports that D.C.’s Capitol Hill was in the process of being stormed.

The president reiterated his condemnation of violence the next day.

This comes after Facebook and Instagram along with other big tech platforms indefinitely suspended the president’s access, cutting off a key line of communication between the president and the citizens of this country.

For more than four years, Breitbart News has reported on the rapidly increasing, undemocratic power of Silicon Valley companies, and their growing determination to interfere in the political affairs of the United States and other countries.

More here.

Most patriots still on Twitter like me (I am a small fry there) are losing followers by the hundreds (me, nearly 1,500 in the last few days) and thousands (James Woods, tens of thousands) literally overnight.

Surely Twitter is targeting us, but I suspect some of the loss has to do with the droves of people now leaving Twitter as Trump’s tweets were a magnet for them in the first place.

Driving Trump underground is sheer foolishness.

Many patriots are moving to Parler, however news was bad there last night as the site was down entirely.  I don’t know if it is up today, but they may not last long:

From Engadget:

Apple and Google crack down on Parler after violent threats

Apple and Google have told the “free speech” social media app Parler that it must begin moderating its users content, following violence at the US Capitol this week. The app — a Twitter alternative popular among Donald Trump supporters and the far-right —  has faced renewed scrutiny for its role in the planning of the attacks. [What “planning?”  Where are the reports of “attack” planning?—ed].

On Friday, as pressure grew for Apple and Google to remove it from their stores, Google suspended Parler from the Play Store, citing “continued posting in the Parler app that seeks to incite ongoing violence in the U.S.”

More here.

Next, citing the (embarrassing to the Democrats) invasion of the Capitol on Wednesday, they will take away our right to assemble….

Gee where in history have we learned about these fascist and communist tactics to drive political opposition underground—places where it never went well.

Here is What I Saw in Washington, DC Yesterday….

I have already heard from some of my faithful readers wanting to know what happened in our once beautiful capital city***.

This will be a short report today because I would like to see more facts about what really went down at the Capitol.

I spent the morning near the White House waiting with hundreds of thousands of peaceful patriots to hear the President speak.

Here is a screenshot of where I was. This view is what the President could see.  But, even this photo taken at 8:35 a.m. does not begin to show how massive the protest gathering was, especially when the President took the stage hours later.

To get your bearings, that is the base of the Washington Monument in the upper left hand corner. I am farther right in the gathering, as that is a jumbotron we could barely see.

Here is the youtube video of the scene (which youtube might eventually scrub):

President Trump was scheduled for eleven, but didn’t speak until noon.

Although the temperature was in the moderate low 40’s, most everyone appeared to be pretty darn cold as they waited for many hours in an absolute stunning sea of flags and banners of all sorts.

When the President finished, most of this massive crowd began moving toward the Capitol building where some Members of the House and Senate were attempting to present a case that the election might(!) have been a fraud.

I was not at the Capitol, but like you, saw the images on TV after getting home.

I’ll show you more pictures as the days go on, but here are a few that I took while mingling around a crowd that was largely working class Americans of all ages. The “deplorables” according to the elitists in the Democrat Party.

The Chinese Communist Party menace!

You will see that I was most interested in the Chinese-American presence (Vietnamese-Americans who have first hand experience with Communism were also out) showing their support for this President, the only hope they see to keep the Chinese Communist Party from gaining a greater foothold in America.

How many of you could say the same?

As for what happened in the afternoon at the Capitol building at the other end of Pennsylvania Avenue, we need to wait until there is more information.

Of course none of us condone violence of any sort, but if it turns out that Trump supporters are largely responsible, I ask the ruling class WHAT DID YOU EXPECT?  when on both sides of the elite political aisle, these Americans who love Trump have been disrespected while they watched as our weak leaders failed to criticize the violence for most of last year perpetrated by the Leftists—Antifa and Black Lives Matter.

And, the final insult to them, to the country class, was the great Election Steal of 2020 which unseated the one political leader they see as truly liking them and caring about them as he puts America first!

*** When I say once beautiful city, I am referring to the Washington, DC where I lived in my late 20s and where I took my children for field trips and trips to the Kennedy Center where a homeless encampment is within view of it now and where store fronts are boarded up.

My friends and I remarked that we may never be back.  Yesterday might have been our last site of it.

P.S. It sure looks like I will be busy writing at Refugee Resettlement Watch going forward.

“Scumbags” Swarm Senator Josh Hawley’s DC Area Home; Terrorize his Wife

Hawley’s wife was home alone with a new baby.

This is what the goons on the Left are so good at—terrorizing—and I expect this is why there are so many weak Republicans, and for that matter weak Judges and Justices (e.g. John Roberts).

The story is at Gateway Pundit, a website you should follow as the Hoft brothers are on top of all of the latest news involving the Great Election Steal of 2020.

When I saw Jim Hoft’s post. I immediately thought about Leo Hohmann’s post yesterday !

VIOLENT LEFTIST MOB Swarms and Attacks Senator Hawley’s DC Home — Pounding on Door, Screaming Threats — Terrorizing His Wife and Newborn Baby

The Senator was back in Missouri at the time.

These are the goons working for Biden and Harris!

But Senator Hawley’s wife Erin and their newborn baby were at home at the time!

This is the modern-day Democrat Party.
Their fake news media will, no doubt, ignore this latest attack on a mother and her baby!

The Senator, who was in Missouri when the attack occurred, tweeted this:

The Gateway Pundit blog goes on to report that Shutdown DC put out a notice claiming credit for terrorizing women and children.

I told you about Shutdown in October (many work for the federal government).

A “vigil”?

Meanwhile a different sort of thug—Fox News anchors—bully Senator Hawley who stands up to Bret Baier’s snark.

I hope all of you have now dumped Fox News!

Look around and see that Leftwing media sites are thrilled with not only Baier, but are overjoyed to see Steve Doocy and Brian Kilmeade say Trump has no proof of election fraud. At Mediaite.

Hawley is the first of twelve US Senators to question the 2020 presidential election results.  Georgia’s Kelly Loeffler says she will join the twelve, but I don’t know how that works since today’s Georgia special election results will surely not be available by tomorrow.

Senators Lindsey Graham and Tom Cotton Turn Their Backs on Trump, will NOT Support Electoral Challenge

Yesterday I told you that twelve brave Senators will stand against China Mitch McConnell and his deputy John Thune and said they want a Constitutionally permitted review and debate on the election results in key battleground states before they vote to certify the 2020 election and install Harris/Biden in the White House.

Late yesterday both Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina (so glad I didn’t send him a dime as he cried in TV ads every day to send him money so he could get back to the Senate) called the effort a “political stunt,” and Senator Tom Cotton of Arkansas said it would “establish unwise precedents.”

It strikes me that it is the Dems who have established unwise precedents with the election process in at least five major Democrat run cities.

Here is Newsweek on Graham (who never did get to the bottom of the DOJ’s role in the Russia Hoax as he promised he would):

Lindsey Graham Attacked by Trump Supporters Online After Condemning GOP Election Challenge

Senator Lindsey Graham is facing online backlash from supporters of President Donald Trump for condemning several GOP congressional members’ efforts to challenge the certification of the Electoral College vote for President-elect Joe Biden.

A coalition of 11 Republican senators and senators-elect promised to oppose Congress in certifying the Electoral College vote this Wednesday, unless a commission is formed to audit the election results in disputed states. The group, led by Ted Cruz of Texas, said it would “reject the electors from disputed states as not ‘regularly given’ and ‘lawfully certified’… unless and until that emergency 10-day audit is completed.”

Graham, a Republican who represents South Carolina, criticized the effort as a political stunt on Sunday.

“Proposing a commission at this late date—which has zero chance of becoming reality—is not effectively fighting for President Trump,” he tweeted. “It appears to be more of a political dodge than an effective remedy.”

Needless to say, America Firsters gave Graham a piece of their mind:

“So you used MAGA to get re-elected and now do this? Disgusting,” tweeted Errol Webber, a Republican candidate for governor of California.

There is more here.

As for Tom Cotton, I did like the guy, but I am now done with him.

From The Hill:

Cotton breaks with conservative colleagues who will oppose electoral vote count

Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.), a possible contender for the GOP presidential nomination in 2024, broke with his rivals Sunday night by announcing he will not object to the counting of electoral votes on Jan. 6.

Cotton just ended any speculation about his future as a Presidential candidate.

Cotton warned that an effort spearheaded by Sens. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) and Ted Cruz (R-Texas), two other 2024 White House hopefuls, to challenge the electoral votes of several swing states that went for President-elect Joe Biden could “establish unwise precedents.”

While Cotton said he is concerned about how the 2020 presidential election was carried out, such as changes to election law allowing mail-in ballots arriving after Election Day to be counted, he argued it is up to the states and the courts — not Congress — to handle election laws.

More here.

We all know that the chance of the Brave Twelve succeeding in keeping Biden from being installed in the White House are almost nil, but what the Twelve are doing is simply saying the facts need to be aired and discussed before a vote is taken and the Constitution anticipated such a situation.

And, they are providing us with a very useful list of wimps.

The pro-Biden-won team:

So to wrap up we know that China Mitch has Republican Senators Thune of SD, Murkowski of Alaska, Romney of Utah, Toomey of Pennsylvania, never-Trumper Ben Sasse of Nebraska and now Cotton of Arkansas, and Lindsey Graham of South Carolina on his team to shutting the door to any more debate on the great Election Steal of 2020.

The MAGA team fighting for fair elections:

As I said yesterday, Ted Cruz of Texas and Josh Hawley of Missouri will lead a team that wants answers to what happened in key states when the vote count was stopped overnight beginning on November 3rd.

Sens. Marsha Blackburn (Tenn.), Mike Braun (Ind.), Steve Daines (Mont.), Ron Johnson (Wis.), John Kennedy (La.) and James Lankford (Okla.), as well as Sen.-elects Bill Hagerty (Tenn.), Cynthia Lummis (Wyo.), Roger Marshall (Kan.) and Tommy Tuberville (Ala.).

Reminder that if you are going to DC on Wednesday, check out Stop the Steal’s website!

While you are visiting Stop the Steal, see where you can find out how to reach your Members of Congress and Senators.  Call them today through Wednesday!  Tell them what you think!

MAGA!
