That is the gist of the good part according to Arab-American observers, but his vague policy prescriptions for foreign policy relating to Arabs and Israel was too vague to get the full-throated support of Arab activists.
Biden’s ‘partnership plan’ receives mixed response from Arab-Americans
The US Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden on Saturday released a policy plan directed at Arab-Americans that encompasses a wide range of domestic and foreign policy pledges in order to win the community’s support.
The plan had a strong focus on civil and human rights, promising to combat discrimination and restore the country’s values as “a nation of immigrants”.
“Anti-Arab bigotry has been used in attempts to exclude, silence, and marginalise an entire community, and Biden believes it must be rejected whenever it surfaces,” the plan read, adding that Arab-Americans would be included across a future Biden administration.
Could we see Ms. Sarsour in a Biden administration?
Biden’s extensive range of domestic policy proposals received high praise from Arab-Americans, many of whom were staunch supporters of Bernie Sanders during the Democratic primary race.
The first pledge included the immediate rescindment of the so-called Muslim ban and the “immoral” family separation policy, as well as increasing the annual intake of refugees to 125,000.
I reported earlier at Refugee Resettlement Watch that Joe Biden has pledged to increase refugee flow to surpass anything his former boss ever managed to do.

A key emphasis of Biden’s plan included combatting discrimination experienced by Arab-Americans in relation to policing, surveillance and counter-terrorism programmes.

It also pledged to protect the community from the rising threat of far-right violence and prioritise prosecution and thorough documentation of hate crimes.
Oopsy! But when he talks in vague terms about the Israel-Palestine issue, Arabs are not so happy.
Omar Shakir, Israel-Palestine director for Human Rights Watch, tweeted: “How hard is it to say equal rights? So long as Joe Biden & Kamala Harris [won’t] say that Palestinians deserve same basic rights as all other [people], no-one should be under illusion that they’ll change decades-long ugly status quo. They’re out of touch [with] their party & reality on ground.”
How can that be? Everyone KNOWS that since both groups are persecuted by white racist Islamophobic Americans they should be working together against their common enemy—us! Right?
And, everyone KNOWS that bringing diversity to impoverished American cities brings strength and “enriches” communities. Right?
One thing that George Floyd’s death has done is shine a spotlight on the tensions between African Americans and especially the Arabs who have moved into ‘their’ neighborhoods (largely thanks to the naive notions the Left peddles about multicultural enrichment). Or is it possible that it isn’t naivety? Maybe creating chaos and discord is the real goal! It surely is for Antifa!
Over the years, writing at RRW,I have come across the issue of poor blacks feeling left out when Arab migrants/refugees are placed in traditional black neighborhoods and just the other day I told you about wishful thinking on the Left that George Floyd would bring the two supposedly maligned groups together.
Now I see at Arab Newsthat there is a lot of work to do to bridge the divide especially as questions arise about Muslim Arabs placing shops that sell liquor and drug paraphernalia in African American neighborhoods, the subject of my post at RRW.
(It is haram for Muslims to drink alcohol, but fine and dandy to sell it!)
By the way there were reports that during the Baltimore riots a few years ago, black thugs directed looting toward immigrant Arab shops. African Americans don’t take kindly to diversity dumping in their neighborhoods it seems.
US riots take severe toll on Arab-American small businesses
CHICAGO: Stores owned by immigrants of Arab and Muslim origin are among the many businesses that were pillaged and destroyed during the protests triggered by the death in Minneapolis of George Floyd, a 46-year-old black man, while in police custody.
US media has focused almost exclusively on the continued anger over the circumstances of Floyd’s death on May 25, while choosing to ignore an inconvenient truth: the economic setback and mental anguish suffered by hard-working Arab American and Muslim immigrant communities.
Tribalism exists!
Why does the US media ignore the facts surrounding the tension between African Americans and Muslims? Because it goes completely against the meme they are promoting daily—blacks and Muslims are being treated badly by whites and so therefore there cannot be any discord between the supposedly mistreated minorities.

Steve and John Salamy saw their liquor store looted and destroyed in recent Chicago riots.
Protesters burned vehicles, smashed windows, defaced buildings and clashed with police as civil unrest erupted in cities across the country. Atlanta, Seattle, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, Columbus, Pittsburgh, Denver, Salt Lake City, Nashville and Minneapolis imposed curfews while the governors of Minnesota, Georgia, Ohio, Washington and Kentucky mobilized their states’ National Guards.
Although there are Arab chambers of commerce in many of the cities heavily affected by the rioting and looting, none of the business bodies — except one in Chicago — have been able to collect accurate information on the losses suffered by the community.
Through tears, Ekhlas Salamy described how she and her sons, Steve and John, watched helplessly from across a main street as their store in Chicago was ransacked by looters.
“I am so frustrated by what happened to our store. My husband bought the business in 1988 and it is located in a mixed community of African Americans and Hispanics,” said Salamy, whose family emigrated to the US from the Palestinian city of Ramallah.
It is not fair says Mrs. Salamy!
“We have never had any problems before with the African American community. In fact, five of our employees are black and three others are Hispanic.
“We never treated them badly and never let them feel that they were any different from us. We have always treated them with respect.

She and her two sons took over the family’s Chicago business, Pete & Jack’s Liquor, at 4156 W Division Street when her husband died in August 2018.
“This is our livelihood. All my family has survived off this business,” Salamy told Arab News.
“The looters just destroyed all our hard work. I have tears in my eyes because we never did any harm to anyone. They stole everything and destroyed the entire store.”
Think it is bad now? Just wait till the Police Departments in major cities are stripped of funding and the power to arrest criminals. Steve and John will have to be hiring their own personal police force.

This is an update of a story we have followed from its outset when a gang of African ‘new American’ teens attacked some white Lewiston, Maine residents at a local park in June 2018.

The gang attack resulted in thedeath of Don Giusti. It took months for authorities, who viewed videos of the fight, to determine just which local immigrant teens were responsible and who exactly threw the projectile that resulted in Giusti’s death.
Now we see that Emmanuel Nkurunziza, who has been charged, is free to go to school and now wants his ankle monitor removed, that despite the fact that he has on several occasions failed to show up for meetings with his court-designated supervisor.
Bail in question for teen charged in Lewiston slaying
AUBURN — Prosecutors are seeking to have bail revoked for a former Lewiston man charged with manslaughter in the 2018 death of 38-year-old Donald Giusti near Kennedy Park in Lewiston.
My guess is that Emmanuel Nkurunziza, 18, is a flight risk. No ethnicity is reported, but he is very likely from a refugee family placed in Maine in recent years and may have family members still in Africa.
Meanwhile, lawyers for Emmanuel Nkurunziza, 18, of Biddeford are hoping to persuade a judge that his bail conditions are too restrictive and should be loosened.
A bail hearing is scheduled for next week in Augusta.
While awaiting trial, Nkurunziza was allowed by a judge to move from Lewiston to Biddeford to live with his parents and attend the public school there. He was ordered in September to wear an electronic ankle bracelet monitor and be supervised by Maine Pretrial Services.
According to court papers, a case manager for that organization wrote that Nkurunziza had failed to report to his supervisor’s office three times since September, most recently on Jan. 7.The terms of his agreement dictate that he report to his supervisor’s office every Tuesday between 3:20 and 3:45 p.m. or as directed.
Last month, he emailed his supervisor roughly an hour after he was due to report to her office to tell her he had forgotten to check in at the designated time and asked whether he could check in the next day instead, a case manager wrote in an affidavit. According to that document, Nkurunziza also had failed to report to his supervisor on Nov. 26, and Oct. 9 last year.
Cry me a river!
Nkurunziza filed a motion seeking to allow him more flexibility in coordinating his reporting to his supervisor with his school schedule.
He also is hoping that the judge will lift the electronic monitoring requirement to better accommodate Nkurunziza’s school schedule that makes it difficult to keep the device charged. The conspicuous device also has made it difficult for him to apply for jobs, his lawyers have argued. [Imagine that!—ed]

As I said yesterday at RRW, we are bringing in Afghans and Iraqis by the tens of thousands as a reward for doing something for our military (or even for non-profit groups) with no guarantee that they will benefit America.

7 charged in Central California party shooting that killed 4
FRESNO — Seven gang members were charged Thursday in state and federal court in the shooting deaths of four men at a backyard party in California, prosecutors said.

The victims were killed Nov. 17 when gunmen entered the yard of a Fresno home through an unlocked gate and used semiautomatic weapons to open fire on people watching a Sunday night football game. Four men were killed and six other people were wounded.
Police said the suspects all acknowledge being members of the Mongolian Boys Society and that the shooting was intended as retaliation for the death of one of their gang members.
However, investigators do not believe any of the victims were members of a rival gang and say they were mistakenly targeted. [Another news report says one of those targeted belonged to the Asian Crips gang.—ed]

They could face life in prison if convicted of the charges. District Attorney Lisa Smittcamp said prosecutors were considering whether to pursue the death penalty.

All the victims were of Hmong descent and the shooting rattled the central California city, home of the second-largest Hmong community in the U.S.
Hmong, an ethnic minority group from East and Southeast Asia, fought on the side of the U.S. in the Vietnam War. After the war, the U.S. moved them to places in Minnesota, California and Wisconsin.
California, Hmong settled in Fresno and the Central Valley, where sponsors hoped they could find work given their agricultural background.
Another bunch of New Americans bringing us gangs and violence, as well as a big bill for the cost of trials and possible lifelong incarceration.
Hey, the next time you see one of those gushing economic studies put out by the likes of Bloomberg’s New American Economy or Welcoming America, see if they have factored in the cost to the criminal justice system!
