Writer: Solve Border Crisis by Turning Asylum Seekers Over to Refugee Resettlement Agencies for Care (ahhhhh!)

After following the activities of the US Refugee Resettlement Agencies—the nine federal contractors largely funded by you and me (the taxpayers)—I can say with absolute certainty that this is a foolish idea.

caravan mob
Treat all the border jumpers as refugees and turn them over to the care of Leftwing federal refugee resettlement contractors!

However, I am surprised this is the first time I’m seeing anyone suggest this (publicly) because you know that the nine (six are supposedly ‘religious’ charities) would love nothing better than to be paid for taking care of hundreds of thousands of additional migrants on a per head basis!
If you are new to Frauds and Crooks and had never seen Refugee Resettlement Watch, here (below) are the nine federally-funded resettlement agencies.  We had for some time heard that the Trump Administration was going to dump a couple of the CONTRACTORS, but they never did.  Several of these fake non-profits are as much as 90+ per cent federally-funded.

Before I get to the news about this horrible idea, remember that refugees have supposedly made the case that they would be persecuted if returned to their home country.  Asylum seekers on the other hand, may or may not be able to prove their case, yet this proposal pushes us one step closer to the Open Borders agitators’ primary objective to convince the naive public that anyone on the move anywhere in the world is a legitimate refugee.
By the way, the Senate’s Gang of Eight bill from several years ago, that would have given amnesty to illegal aliens, would also have given these nine contractors an expanded role (and more money!) to help the newly amnestied get signed up for their ‘services’ (aka welfare).

One step closer to a socialist dream world!

Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society Cries the Blues over Trump's Low Refugee Admission Numbers

No, they are not alone, the other eight federal contractors have begun their anti-Trump chorus as the 6-month-mark in the fiscal year has been reached and they see that once again refugees (paying clients) admitted through the US Refugee Admissions Program will be low.
(I reported the low number here last week.)

Hias at the border
The Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society at the border last week putting on an anti-Trump media event!  Shouldn’t they be focused on the refugees we pay them to care for?  https://www.hias.org/blog/jewish-clergy-us-mexico-border-examine-human-rights-issues

Not surprisingly my alerts are filled with news stories this week about how the meany Donald Trump is causing suffering for those waiting all around the world for their ticket to your town.
But, as you may remember, the Trump Administration said the numbers for regular refugee admissions would be low because the Administration was faced with a huge and growing-daily backlog of asylum seekers at the southern border.
Asylum seekers are refugee wannabes—they say they will be persecuted if returned to their home countries and therefore have a “right” to ask to stay in America permanently.
But, this is what never made sense to me—if groups like the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society cared so much about those waiting to get here from Africa, Asia and the Middle East who have been at least nominally screened, why are they at the border putting on media stunts to pressure us to allow illegal aliens (they call them NEW Americans) of all sorts across the border?

Local Refugee Offices Closing as Trump Administration Keeps Refugee Numbers Low

Of course there isn’t much to cheer about as you know tens of thousands of migrants are streaming across our southern border, most claiming they are refugees seeking asylum.

Migrants streaming to America
Refugee admission numbers pale in comparison to the numbers coming across our border and claiming refugee status.

The flow that has definitely slowed is the US Refugee Admissions Program refugees that are selected initially by the United Nations, followed by US State Department approval and resettlement by one of nine federal resettlement contractors who distribute them to most states. (One of many posts on the contractors at RRW is here.)
The work of the contractors is almost completely funded by you.
Office closures reported this week are the result of the federal slowdown in admissions (slowdown in money to the contractors) and because these resettlement offices could not find enough local financial support to keep their doors open, a fact that demonstrates one vital point:

There is not enough support by the public generally for refugee resettlement!

Before I get to the two office closures I heard about this week, one in Ohio, the other in Virginia, here is a bit of information about where we are at the 6-month-mark for FY19.
(Fiscal year 2019 runs from October 1, 2018 to September 30, 2019.)

The Refugee Travel Loan Fraud

What is the world coming to?
Yesterday we learned that the Southern Poverty Law Center could (fingers crossed!) implode and now The New York Times (The New York Times!) reports on the deep dark secret about travel loans to refugees that you pay for with your tax dollars.

I first heard about the travel loans in 2007 and wrote about them from time to time at Refugee Resettlement Watch, but I don’t recall any major publication saying much about them and certainly not with a questioning tone about how the nine federal ‘non-profit’ refugee contractors benefit from collecting the loans.
For many of you it’s bad enough that we give no-interest loans and that a large number are never repaid, but for me the scam has always been that the contractors (six are supposedly ‘religious’ charities) benefit financially from the deal.
