For the last week or so, the Dems have been (hilariously!) beating a drum trying to flip the narrative and blame the Republicans for defunding the police as they eye the 2022 midterm elections while rising crime has voters nervous.

But, it isn’t so funny when you see the White House is in on the action and literally repeating that Big Lie.

Do they think we are stupid, that we didn’t watch BLM and Antifa demanding the police be defunded for the last year with Democrat weaklings parroting their Commie agitator friends and taking their hefty campaign donations.

White House: Actually, Republicans are trying to defund the police

WASHINGTON — The White House is responding to relentless Republican charges that it wants to “defund the police” by embracing the message that there are, in fact, politicians angling to starve law enforcement of needed money: congressional Republicans.

The White House launched the counteroffensive as advisers push to shore up President Joe Biden’s low approval on crime*** and fight an attack that could damage Democrats in the midterm elections next year.

Congressional Democrats are amplifying the push, highlighting their support for bills that would boost money for policing. They cite Republican opposition to the measures, along with the party’s lack of interest in investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol, which left a police officer dead and many more injured, to claim that Republicans aren’t the party of law enforcement.

“The president, with the backing of leading law enforcement groups, secured the money that his predecessor opposed — to keep cops on the beat — and every single Republican member of Congress voted against it,” White House spokesman Andrew Bates said. “The GOP continues to oppose the American Rescue Plan even as it delivers the rehiring of police in their districts.”

Republicans are seizing on rising concerns about crime to try to recapture control of Congress next year. Biden is vulnerable on the issue — a new Washington Post-ABC News poll finds that 38 percent approve of his handling of crime, while 48 percent disapprove and 14 percent have no opinion.

A USA Today/Ipsos poll released in March found that just 18 percent of Americans supported the “defund the police” movement.

In an op-ed Monday for Fox News, Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, slammed the White House’s argument as “gaslighting,” calling it a “desperate ploy to escape blame for rising crime rates.”

The Socialists/Communists (with their friends in the fake news media) are really good at this—they just keep repeating a lie and eventually everyone believes it.

It won’t work this time because unfortunately for them for over a year we all watched who was attacking law enforcement both physically and financially and it wasn’t America First Republicans.

Last week we learned that the Harris/Biden Administration is not doing so well as the border situation continues to fester.

And, this week we learn from a YahooNews/YouGov poll that the Biden team and their continued attacks on law enforcement (while soft on criminals) isn’t sitting well with Republicans AND Democrats.

You can bet the poll skewed Left and still they got results that should be sending shudders through the White House.

Stories like this one are coming fast and furious and American voters are paying attention!

New Yahoo News/YouGov poll: Biden’s approval rating falls, as both Republicans and Democrats grow more concerned about crime

Rising worries about crime among both Democrats and Republicans are starting to create a drag on President Biden’s approval rating, according to a new Yahoo News/YouGov poll — and could signal larger challenges for the president’s party ahead of the 2022 midterm elections.

The survey of 1,592 U.S. adults, which was conducted from June 22 to 24, found that a significant majority (55 percent) now describe “violent crime” as a “very big problem” in the United States — far more than the share who checked that degree of concern for the coronavirus pandemic (36 percent), race relations (39 percent), the economy (41 percent) or political correctness (39 percent).

Even more striking is the fact that the number of Americans who consider violent crime a very big problem rose 6 percentage points over the last month, and Republicans (among whom the number increased from 56 to 65 percent) weren’t the only ones contributing to that increase.

Last month, 45 percent of Democrats described violent crime as a very big problem. Now that number is 8 points higher (53 percent).

At the same time, 47 percent of Americans now disapprove of the way Biden is handling crime, up from 43 percent last month; just 36 percent approve.

Among Democrats, disapproval of Biden’s approach to crime increased by 3 points (to 17 percent). And while plenty of Democrats still approve of his handling of crime (68 percent), that number is noticeably lower than his approval among Democrats on nearly every other issue, including COVID-19 (91 percent), the economy (83 percent), foreign policy (81 percent), race (81 percent), climate change (81 percent) and immigration (70 percent).  [So that means 30% of Dems see the border crisis for what it is—a crisis out of control.—ed]

Harris/Biden Open Door Immigration Policy Could Sink Dems

A poll (and you know most of these polls skew to the Left) demonstrates that the new Administration is in deep doo-doo and the alarm bells are ringing.

So, the message to you is to keep spreading the news and howling  about the invasion at our southern border (along with all the other efforts the White House is making to change America by changing the people).

For instance if you don’t read my other blog, Refugee Resettlement Watch, you may not know that we are only a little over three months away from opening the sluice gates to 125,000 ‘refugees’ from the Middle East, Africa and Asia, on top of the border crashers.

Majority of voters say Biden should implement stricter immigration policies: poll

A majority of voters in a new poll say that President Biden should implement stricter immigration policies to limit the number of people illegally entering the country.

Sixty-four percent of registered voters in a new Harvard CAPS-Harris Poll survey released exclusively to The Hill said Biden should “issue new, stricter policies to reduce the flow of people across the border.” Meanwhile, 36 percent said the administration should continue its current policies.

Apparently Kamala’s trip to Central America in search of root causes did not satisfy voters on either side of the aisle. To get 64% saying they want stricter immigration policies means that a fairly large chunk of Biden’s (Ha-Ha) 81 million voters are unhappy.  Kamala 2024 (NOT!)

The question comes as the White House continues to deal with a high number of migrants looking to cross the southern border while rolling back policies that were implemented by former President Trump.

While Biden has not yet put forth a comprehensive immigration platform as he focuses on infrastructure and combating the coronavirus, the president has revoked Trump’s policy that barred immigrants from obtaining visas unless they proved they could obtain health insurance or pay for health care, scrapped the travel ban targeting Muslim-majority nations and upheld the Obama-era Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, among other things.

Putting Covid and infrastructure as top priorities right out of the gate (probably figuring two easy wins), while allowing the border to completely spin out of control, the Harris/Biden team may have fatally miscalculated!

Biden this month also formally nixed the “Remain in Mexico” program, which forced asylum-seekers to stay in Mexico while awaiting the result of their case in U.S. immigration court. The Department of Homeland Security also officially banned family separations for prosecutions of illegal border crossings, another reversal of Trump’s policies.

Those moves have led to praise from Democrats who say the White House is taking a more humane approach to immigration, while Republicans have howled that Biden is making the border less safe.  [Yup, howling is what we must continue doing.—ed]

Voters say Biden should have left in place the Trump administration’s immigration policies.

Fifty-five percent of voters said the previous administration’s policies should have been kept, while 45 percent say they should have been undone.

LOL! I figure that the reason 55% said Trump policies should have been left in place is because that is likely the margin who voted for Trump to continue in the White House!

Have you noticed that the Administration and the Dems are not out and about bragging about their historic 81 million votes?

But, I digress, back to The Hill.

Overall, 67 percent of voter say that people who cross the southern border illegally should be sent back to Mexico, while a third say they should be released into the U.S. with a court date.

A number to remember to tell your friends—200,000 a month crossing the border illegally!

“The voters see the border as a growing problem and blame the Biden administration policies. The voters vastly underestimate the size of the problem and so once they learn it’s nearly 200,000 a month making illegal crossing their temperatures rise on this issue,” said pollster Mark Penn. “This is the administration’s greatest weakness right now.”

Update: Inspector General Looking into Huge Contract to Shelter Illegal Aliens

This is the latest on a post I wrote a little over a month ago about a federal contractor (Endeavors) that landed a massive no-bid contract and now the Dept. of Homeland Security Inspector General has launched an investigation.

The size of the contract and the connection to a Biden insider raises red flags.

DHS Inspector General reviewing huge no-bid contract with company connected to former Biden official

 

EXCLUSIVE: The Department of Homeland Security’s Inspector General’s office is evaluating a multi-million dollar contract awarded to a Texas company that employs a former Biden transition official, multiple sources with the probe confirm to Fox News.

A DHS IG official tells Fox News the contract, with the San Antonio-based nonprofit Endeavors, is the subject of an ongoing evaluation to look at how “ICE plans to house migrant families in hotels, and how ICE selected a contractor to implement these plans.” The Formal title of the probe is, “ICE’s Contract to House Migrants in Hotels.”

Tens of thousands of migrants are crossing the southern border every month, with nearly 180,000 encountered by Customs and Border Patrol along the Southwestern Border in April 2021.

Thousands of those migrants are now being housed in hotels, thanks to Endeavors. The company recently landed a couple of massive government contracts worth upwards of a half-billion dollars.

On January 20th, 2021, the very day President Joe Biden took the oath of office, Endeavors put out a news release announcing the hiring of Andrew Lorenzen-Strait, a former Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) official who also served as a Biden transition advisor on Homeland Security issues.

“This is a no-bid contract, and those should be used in only the most extraordinary circumstances,” said Tom Jones of the American Accountability Foundation, a conservative-leaning watchdog organization. “It’s typical and it’s terrible. Both sides do it. It’s why we have a massive budget deficit and a debt going through the roof…There’s scumminess and swampiness on both sides of this but we need to root that out.”
