DC Uber Driver Murder: American Pakistani Organization Wants Black Girls Charged with a Hate Crime

Here is an update to my post about the horrific carjacking and murder case involving a Pakistani Uber driver killed when two black teens attempted to steal his car.

I asked in my post—where is CAIR?

You know they would be on it long before now if white punks had committed the horrible murder.

Is it because they have thrown in with Black Lives Matter and its anti-police campaign that they dare not speak out against black crime?

CAIR’s headquarters in Southeast Washington, DC is within a mile of where the carjacking and murder occurred.

Don’t they get it that fewer police means more crime against vulnerable people of all races and creeds?

Or, are they pulling their punches afraid of getting on the wrong side of Mayor Bowser?

I just checked again to see if CAIR national, located not far from the scene of Mohammad Anwar’s death, had said a word and I am not seeing it.

Among other things they are busy trying to get rid of Maryland’s ‘racist’ state song.

But a Pakistani American organization isn’t shy about demanding a “hate crime” charge in the case.

And, meanwhile Fox News reports that the coverage of the murder by the mainstream media is uneven to say the least.

After reporting that the girls have been charged with felony murder, the report goes on to say ….

On March 25, one day after the suspects’ first court appearance, the American Pakistani Public Affairs Committee called on police to investigate the death as a hate crime.

In a statement posted on Twitter, the organization said Anwar’s “death is a devastating loss to his family and community and our hearts go out to all who are mourning his loss.”

“This unspeakable act is another tragic example of the hatred and violence that Muslim Americans regularly endure,” the committee said. “We demand authorities investigate this incident as a hate crime and prosecute the alleged assailants to the fullest extent of the law.”

“As our nation reckons with rising incidents of hate and violence directed toward minority communities, APPAC stands in solidarity with all who fall victim to the senseless consequences of Islamophobia, racism, xenophobia, religious prejudice and oppression,” the statement continued.

Of course we can’t know what these evil girls were thinking when they left home with a taser to try and steal a car, but I will bet a million bucks that they wouldn’t have done this to a black Uber driver.

I’m not defending them, but surely they didn’t know the man was a Muslim.

However, they likely knew he was an immigrant of some sort, and not black.

It is all one more example of the uneven application of standards of right and wrong (no matter who the victims and who the perpetrators are) in the Left’s ever-expanding game of racial politics.

And, as they keep it up, and twist themselves into knots trying to figure out what reaction to take depending on skin color politics, it makes for a wonderful opportunity to laugh at their hypocrisy.

I figure this is news you have already seen, but just now as I searched around I see that it took days for the disgusting story to spread. Why?

My guess is that it doesn’t fit the mainstream media’s narrative when members of one minority group, in this case Blacks (girls), kill a member of another ‘oppressed’ group, a Muslim man.

And, it all goes down in Mayor Muriel Bowser’s and Black Lives Matter capital city where black lives matter and others not so much!

It sure is a good thing we have the UK Daily Mail because as I began my reading this morning, it was challenging to find a succinct account of what happened almost a week ago.

Anwar died last Tuesday when he was ejected from his Honda Accord after two teenage girls allegedly tasered him and tried to steal his car.

That was bad enough but compounding the horrible event, Bowser attempted to protect the image of Washington DC’s black community by initially lecturing drivers to be more careful about keeping their cars out of the hands of thieves.

Washington, DC, Mayor Muriel Bowser has deleted her ‘tone deaf’ tweet advising people on how to prevent auto theft after days of silence about UberEats driver killed in a carjacking in the city.

Bowser’s official Twitter account posted a Metropolitan Police Department video about preventing car thefts on Sunday with the caption: ‘Auto theft is a crime of opportunity. Follow these steps to reduce the risk of your vehicle becoming a target. Remember the motto, #ProtectYourAuto.’

The tweet drew outrage from critics who called it tone deaf in light of the death of 66-year-old Mohammad Anwar. Anwar died last Tuesday when he was ejected from his Honda Accord after two teenage girls allegedly tasered him and tried to steal his car.

The tweet was deleted late Sunday.

There are National Guard troops all over DC and here they grab the girls at the scene. Orange hoodie girl wanted to get her phone out of the car she had just wrecked.

The backlash over Bowser’s tweet followed graphic new video shared on social media has shown the events leading up to Anwar’s tragic death as well as the moment the suspects attempt to run away as he lay motionless on the sidewalk.

A father-of-three from Springfield, Virginia, Anwar was making deliveries for UberEats when the two teens, aged 13 and 15, approached his car and tasered him in an attempt to steal the vehicle.

A judge concluded that the two teen girls pose a threat to the community and are a potential flight risk, and ordered them detained pending their next court appearance scheduled for March 31.

Where is CAIR?

CAIR headquarters in Washington not far from the scene of the crime.

My first thought was: so what is CAIR saying since they have been sucking up to BLM since at least last June? Have they blasted the mayor? Called for Bowser’s resignation? Called for more police protection?

Have they called it a hate crime, or an anti-immigrant xenophobic crime?

You can bet if the teens were white you would be hearing that cry already.

Have they said “all live matter?”

DC and Virginia Do NOT Want Federal Shelters for Unaccompanied Alien Children

This is an update of a story I posted here in August where we learned that even the Washington Post was calling out local Leftwing politicians for their hypocrisy!

It is your classic ‘Not-in-my-backyard’ tale.

DC Mayor Muriel Bowser has rolled out new regulations in a bid to block the project!

Washington, DC and its wealthy (Democrat-run) bedroom communities of northern Virginia do not want shelters for the mostly teens coming across our borders illegally.

Send them to Arizona and Texas instead!

Trump administration drops plans for Northern Virginia immigrant shelter

The Trump administration has called off its plans to bring a new shelter for unaccompanied immigrant children to Northern Virginia.

Federal officials are “no longer conducting exploratory assessments of vacant properties to lease” in the region, according to an email from spokespeople with the Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of Refugee Resettlement. The agency revealed in August that it was considering a variety of Northern Virginia jurisdictions for a new, 110,000-square-foot facility.

But that move prompted fierce pushback from local leaders…

The HHS officials did not say why they ultimately declined to pursue a shelter in the region. They added in the email that they’ve also stopped searching for space in Atlanta, Central Florida and Los Angeles, and will likely pursue new facilities in Texas and Arizona instead.

The mayor of Alexandria, Virginia, Justin Wilson, said if the feds send some bucks to the city he might consider discussing it further.

“If the federal government wished to provide the city with the resources to care for these children, in partnership, I would be open to discussing such a scenario,” Wilson wrote. “But as it has been presented to the city at this point, I do not believe this is something the city should be a part of.”

The Trump administration’s plans for a similar immigrant shelter in D.C. are considerably more unsettled.

Separately from the search for space in Northern Virginia, HHS also plans to work with Maryland-based contractor Dynamic Service Solutions to open a new shelter in Takoma. Mayor Muriel Bowser, however, has rolled out new regulations in a bid to block that project, though it remains unclear whether federal officials have a way to sidestep her efforts.

Margery Magill, International Agricultural Development Alumna, Passes Away Unexpectedly

Last night I wanted to see if there was anything new on the murder of Margery Magill.

She was the young woman stabbed to death by a stranger while walking a dog in Washington last week.

By all accounts Margery had a lot to give to the world as you can see by the death announcement at UC Davis where she had been an outstanding student. My headline is their headline—-passes away unexpectedly!

No mention of how she passed away!

No mention of the creep who allegedly murdered her—a refugee from Ethiopia! Is it because he was African? A refugee? Someone we ‘welcomed’ to America? Black while she was white?

Just like the Texas story about alleged mass murderer, Kenyan Billy Chemirmir, the politically correct powers that be will sweep the uncomfortable news from public view.

Maybe if their weapons weren’t pillows in Chemirmir’s case or knives in the brutal murder of Margery Magill, but they had used guns, the stories might live for a few additional days.

Another vulnerable American woman murdered, another African ‘new American,’ but weapon unknown…

I was checking my list of murders last night and in addition to Margery, we have the case still on-going in Noel, Missouri where law enforcement is searching for a Somali man for questioning in the murder of Jessica McCormack whose daughters he initially kidnapped.

He is apparently still on the loose. Learn more about Jessica, here.

I’ll do my best to report any news on these cases going forward even as the national media moves on to what? Gun control? Hurricanes? Trump’s evil border polices!

Update Breitbart is reporting that the alleged killer came to the US as a child in a refugee family from Ethiopia. He became a US citizen a few years ago.

I’m headed out, but just want to quickly post this dreadful story (hat tip: Jim).

Eliyas Aregahegne, the suspect accused in the random stabbing of a Washington D.C. dog walker who was interning in the city, described himself as a once promising college student and scholarship winner.

That all changed, police say, on August 27, 2019; they accuse him of repeatedly stabbing a stranger to death on the street in a vicious random attack. The victim was named as Margery Magill, 27, of Northwest, D.C. Police wrote that, on August 28, 2109, Eliyas Aregahegne, 24, of Northwest, D.C., was “arrested and charged with first degree murder while armed.”

“It’s absolutely tragic. I still can’t wrap my head around it,” Magill’s sister, Raeann Magill, told News4. “You know, out walking a dog and to be attacked like that. How can anyone even fathom that? I mean, it’s truly tragic and I even think to myself, why her?” Police say they don’t know.

Eliyas Aregahegne wrote on Facebook that he was single, lived in Washington D.C.,and was a “POSSE Scholar UW-Madison.” He also wrote that he was from Washington D.C. On Instagram, Aregahegne wrote, “18 y/o, Aries🐏. Ethiopian.UW-Madison Class of 2017.” Heavy contacted the UW-Madison PR office and learned that Aregahegne was briefly a student at Madison but not in 2017 as he wrote.
