I guess Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of New York was too busy cozying up to Governor Andrew Cuomo for money for itsPro Bono legal services in defense of illegal aliens to bother pushing too hard to save late term aborted babies!
New website connects pro-bono lawyers with immigrants in need of help
After relating stories about several illegal aliens (oops! “undocumented”)….
These undocumented immigrants are all in need of pro-bono legal help and their cases are being advertised on a new web portal run by the state’s Liberty Defense Project and Catholic Charities to connect them with volunteer immigration attorneys.
The new websitefunded by the state brings attention to Catholic Charities, which has placed 105 pro bono cases with more than 230 volunteer attorneys throughout New York. Every volunteer receives expert legal training to file applications for asylum-seekers, crime victims, juveniles or individuals trying to reunite with family members.
[….]
The new website is funded by Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s Liberty Defense Project, launched in 2017, which provides free legal help to immigrants across the state through Office for New Americans locations.
The program has provided more than 25,000 services to immigrants, according to a press release. A quarter of the immigrants in detention who received representation under the program have been released and reunited with their families.
More here.
Again, thatnew website that seeks to link free lawyers to illegal aliens (aka New Americans) in need of help to stay in the country is being funded by New York state taxpayers! See Liberty Defense Project!
What can you do? If you live in New York and especially if you are Catholic, you must letCatholic Charities of the Archdiocese of New York know what you think!
This is a diversity is beautiful alert thanks to reader Bob! KIMT3 News:
ROCHESTER POLICE: WOMAN BLOODIED AND HOSPITALIZED, 3 ARRESTED AFTER HOME INVASION
ROCHESTER, Minn. – An apparent robbery attempt left a female bleeding from the face and three people behind bars on burglary and assault charges.
Rochester Police said at 9:53 p.m. Thursday, police responded to a home invasion report at 3031 Towne Club Pkwy.
Police say a 19-year-old resident set up a marijuana buy with 18-year-old Nelson Soro. When Soro showed up, 5-6 people, including two with guns, allegedly rushed into the apartment. Police aren’t sure what was taken from the residence.
Police say the female was hit over the head with a hard object and was taken to St. Mary’s.
At least one of those arrested is a new American, a likely Somali refugee or an offspring of a refugee. On a personal note:When I traveled throughout the US in 2016, I was in the vicinity of Rochester on the way to Owatonna (both refugee resettlement locations) and I pulled into a highway rest area and much to my surprise Somali Muslim women were lined up ostentatiously praying on the lawn at the rest area. Needless-to-say, for an easterner, it was a shocking site.
What can you do? Make sure that news like this from Minnesota gets around to your communities especially in the eastern US because most people have no idea about how far gone Minnesota is already!
For the last dozen years I’ve followed the issues surrounding what the UN calls a refugee crisis (to the UN, it is always a crisis!), but there are now some serious efforts underway to better define the language surrounding migrants-on-the-move around the world. The International Left works day and night to convince the uninformed public that anyone on the move around the world for any reason is a REFUGEE with a right to live in a first world country.
That is just not true! Most migrants are economic migrants seeking employment (or welfare!).
Italy’s Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini is one of the first European leaders to label most of those trying to get to Europe as “fake refugees.”
That is also the case for those trying to break into America across our southern border.
Here is news a few days ago from NBC Newsof all places:
Europe grapples with distinction between refugees and economic migrants
I’m posting a couple paragraphs from near the end of the story first:
According to the United Nations, a refugee is someone who is “unable or unwilling to return to their country of origin owing to a well-founded fear of being persecuted” and has the right to asylum in another country. [Right to apply for asylum says the UN, not a guarantee of asylum!—ed] An economic migrant is generally considered to be someone who leaves their country in search of work or a higher standard of living, not to flee persecution.
It is persecution for race, religion, political view, etc. they must prove, and NOT because there are criminal gangs in their own country, or that they simply want a better life!
Here are the opening paragraphs:
LONDON — With every new storm-tossed rescue ship that hauls drowning migrants out of the Mediterranean Sea, European governments are becoming increasingly reluctant to throw open their ports.
The distinction between “genuine” refugees and economic migrants is being seized upon as countries, weary of playing the good Samaritan, are now pushing to prevent asylum-seekers from reaching their soil in the first place.
Italy and Malta have closed their harbors to rescue ships and are demanding that other European countries share the responsibility or that migrants are taken to ports in places like Tunisia instead. Migrants must claim asylum in the first European Union country they reach. That means the nations closest to conflict and poverty in the Middle East and Africa have been forced to cope with the biggest proportion of new arrivals.
Americans pay attention!
Those caravan migrants from Central America and elsewhere, passing through Mexico to our border, should have asked for asylum in Mexico, at its southern border, if they were legitimate refugees.
But, in fact, they are “asylum shopping” which is a term used to describe those looking for the best deal in a more generous country.
Since last summer, Italy has also clamped down on humanitarian operations by detaining rescue vessels on charges ranging from illegally aiding migrants to not being properly registered. That has resulted in fewer boats searching for people in distress — with no rescue vessels sometimes operating in the central Mediterranean Sea. The language used by some governments to refer to asylum-seekers has also been shifting in recent months. [Shifting to what it is supposed to be!—ed] Italian Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini, who also serves as interior minister and who is a member of an anti-immigration populist party, has railed against “fake refugees.”
What do you do? Pay attention to the language of the Leftwing Open Borders agitators and attempt at every opportunity to counter it. That means if you see a local news story using the word ‘refugee’ loosely attempt to correct it either with a letter-to-the-editor or call the reporter.
Likewise when you see a dumb elected official showing their ignorance about the word ‘refugee’ try to set him/her straight!
Don’t let your friends and acquaintances get away with loose language on the issue of refugees either!
The West African country of Ghana refuses to take back its illegal aliens and criminals that Homeland Security is trying to deport, so it joins six other countries on a list of countries whose nationals will be prohibited from getting certain visas to visit the US for business or pleasure. Before Trump, only two countries had been sanctioned!
FromThe Epoch Times(hat tip: TwoLaine):
Ghana Latest Nation Hit With US Visa Sanctions for Non-Compliance
WASHINGTON—The Department of Homeland Security has issued visa sanctions against Ghana for failing to accept their nationals that the United States is trying to deport. The African nation is the seventh country hit with such sanctions by the Trump administration.
In September 2017, Cambodia, Eritrea, Guinea, and Sierra Leone were sanctioned, and in July 2018, Burma and Laos were added.
The sanctions most-often involve the suspension of B visas (temporary visitors for business or pleasure) to government officials. “American citizens have been harmed because foreign governments refuse to take back their citizens. These sanctions will ensure that the problem these countries pose will get no worse as ICE continues its work to remove dangerous criminals from the United States,” then-ICE Acting Director Thomas Homan said in September 2017. After six months, ICE is forced to release illegal immigrants who are in detention and ready for deportation if their country of origin won’t accept them or issue travel documents for them. The six-month deadline is pursuant to a 2001 Supreme Court ruling, Zadvydas vs. Davis.
In 2015, a Haitian man, whom Haiti failed to accept back when the United States tried to deport him, was released after six months and subsequently murdered a 25-year-old Connecticut woman in her home.
[….] Before Trump, only two countries—The Gambia (2016) and Guyana (2001)—were sanctioned for not accepting back their nationals.
More here.
Again, here are the countries that refuse to take back their frauds, crooks and criminals:
Cambodia
Eritrea
Guinea
Sierra Leone
Burma (we have hundreds of thousands here from Burma now, some are the Rohingya Muslims)
Laos
Ghana
How many of you knew about the Connecticut murder case? I don’t think I did. It is cases like that we should be seeing widely reported on cable news and in the big papers, but rarely do!
How many times have you heard it from the mainstream media—Americans are criminals at a higher rate than immigrants, so those new American wannabes flooding our border pose no threat!
Well, that is fake news!
In case you missedthe new reportat the Federation for American Immigration Reform, John Binder writing at Breitbarthas the numbers.
Study: Illegal Aliens Up to 5X More Likely To Be in Prison Than Americans
Illegal aliens concentrated in ten U.S. states are up to more than five times as likely to be in prison for crimes than American citizens and legal immigrants, a new study reveals.
Research by the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR)analyzed states with the highest concentration of illegal aliens — including Arizona, California, Florida, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Texas, and Washington — debunking claims by the big business interests and open borders lobby that the illegal alien population is generally harmless to Americans.
For example, the FAIR study found that in New Jersey, which has a generally small prison population, illegal aliens are about 5.5 times more likely to be incarcerated than American citizens and legal immigrants.
[….]
As Breitbart News has extensively reported, criminal foreigners in federal prison cost American taxpayers about $1.4 billion every year. Likewise, mass immigration to the U.S. from primarily Central America has led to a booming foreign incarcerated population from the region.
Between Fiscal Year 2011 and 2016, about 91 percent of all criminal illegal and legal immigrants in federal U.S. prisons were nationals from Mexico, Honduras, El Salvador, Dominican Republic, Colombia, and Guatemala, Breitbart News reported.
What can you do? You should bookmark the FAIR report or Binder’s piece and the next time you see news from, for instance, some Leftwing politician, that Americans commit crimes at a higher rate than “new Americans,” take time to let the media outlet or the elected official know that they are wrong.
Better still don’t wait and write a letter to the editor for your local paper with the statistics!
