Fox’s Chris Wallace Will Never Moderate a Presidential Debate Again

That is my prediction of course.  And, heck, maybe last night’s train wreck of a Presidential debate will cool enthusiasm for any more debates this year (or forever!).

I got up this morning pretty down-in-the-dumps after staying up past my bedtime for what I expected would be a hot debate, but never dreamed it would go off the rails as badly as it did.

From a tweet following the debate: The Reagan Battalion wrote: “Joe Biden better buy Chris Wallace a beer after he saved his a** so many times tonight.”

Not long into the debate it became clear that Biden and Wallace were double-teaming to take down Trump.  Furious, I switched to watching comments fly by on twitter and realized it was apparent to everyone, Left and Right, that Wallace had stepped in to debate Trump whenever Trump sought a response from Biden.

Because I am too lazy to do it, I am so glad to see this compilation by Ryan Saavedra at the Daily Wire of many of the tweets I read in real time last night—tweets that told me that I wasn’t imaging things!

Chris Wallace Faces Intense Backlash, Including From Colleagues, Over Bias During Debate

Fox News host Chris Wallace, a registered Democrat, faced intense backlash on Tuesday night for what was widely deemed as bias in the debate in the favor of Democrat Joe Biden and against Republican President Donald Trump.

Wallace had bragged in advance that he planned to be invisible—what a joke. He also said he picked all the topics and questions. Note that he did not bring up immigration/open borders/refugees/Islamic terrorism.

One of the issues that Wallace was called out for the most was how he appeared to let Biden interrupt Trump but would jump in to interrupt Trump when Trump would talk over Biden.

Fox News host Brian Kilmeade even noted the discrepancy and called it out on social media, writing: “Why is @JoeBiden allowed to interrupt? @realDonaldTrump is not.”

Continue reading here to see what many citizen and media commenters said on the subject.

By the way, as hot as Trump was he did not call Biden names while Biden called Trump a liar and a clown.

LOL!  One good thing about last night was Joe Biden’s efforts to distance himself from his radical Left base.

I’m guessing that right now AOC and her gang are working on a plan for him to be so sick he wouldn’t be able to continue in a role as Prez of the US right after inauguration day (if he should win).

  1. I was not a bit surprised the debate went as it did; and that includes how Chris Wallace behaved!

I do agree with you Ann that we don’t need any additional debates – I think it would be a waste of
    time to watch it!

Well for me at least, I am MORE determined than ever to vote for Trump; But I also totally convinced that all-out chaos will ensue shortly after the election. We are in for some very dangerous and “lethal” times!

    1. All good points. Off to the gun shop this morning…. When I wrote that post about the Transition Integrity Project yesterday I realized, maybe for the first time, that this won’t be over for years.

  2. Biden didn’t distance himself, he completely avoided the BLM question and called Antifa “am idea”
and Trump should of crushed him on this alone.

The rest would of been downhill and sent Biden to the ER.

  3. Luntz, the guy who samples audience reaction to debates said that high points for Biden were when he pointed his fingers towards the camera and spoke in that empathetic way he uses to show how much he really cares.
I was moved to tears. Mommy, I said to my wife, I think we should vote for Joe, he really cares about us. And who are these Proud Boys? Were they the ones who we saw smashing windows, setting fires, and carrying the televisions and mattresses out of the stores? No, Mommy said, the ones who were doing that were involved with the ones who were carrying BLM signs.

  4. Omg, that presidential “debate”—more like a verbal foodfight—was the worst, most catastrophically “moderated” (more like inflamed) that I’ve ever seen, and I’ve watched damn near all of them since 1972. It was PAINFUL, and deeply uncomfortable for me: I wanted to turn it off several times, but of course, as wild as it was, I couldn’t, for fear of missing something unprecedented, like a fistfight, or a walkout–by any of the three debaters. The president looked bad indeed–for the first time on TV, in my experience–as, his face continually bright red with anger, he focussed entirely on Biden, utterly ignoring the camera—ie, US, America, the voters—while Biden, pale and calm as death, often ignored Trump, and repeatedly addressed the nation directly. But a lot of it had to do with the Democratic shill Wallace, liberal as his evil Dad Mike, who repeatedly did Biden’s work for him, saved his sorry ass several times, lobbed him softballs while pitching Trump high and inside, endlessly shutting down and scolding Trump for interrupting, while allowing Biden to do the same at will. On the other hand, it was partly Trump’s own fault, for so relentlessly lowering the expectations for Biden by trash-talking before the game, a mistake many pro athletes make. The whole thing was a disgrace, an utter, unbelievable outrage and a shambles; a spectacle blatantly embodying the media’s deep bias against Trump, and their relentless deceit in working for four years to undo his presidency. The only very miniscule silver lining to this train wreck is those responses on Daily Wire. It was at least a little comforting to know I hadn’t just dreamt this nightmare….

    1. I had the same feeling…relieved to know that I wasn’t alone in my assessment either. One of my friends did turn it off in the middle, but like you I hung in thinking I might miss something. I half wanted Trump to just walk off stage and flip them all the bird as he did it.
