California Begins Handouts to Illegal Aliens Tomorrow

I guess you can argue that California does that all the time, but this is a new monetary handout due to the Chinese virus.

Thanks to reader Nancy for sending me the news.

Some of the usual ‘religious’ nonprofits will be responsible for passing out the payola.

From Cal Matters:

Financial help for California’s undocumented immigrants starts Monday

California’s undocumented immigrants can begin applying Monday for disaster relief payments of up to $1,000 per household under Gov. Gavin Newsom’s coronavirus emergency assistance plan.

Unai Montes-Irueste, director of communications with United Ways of California says the money will only reach one in ten of the ‘undocumented.’ About Montes-Irueste: https://www.laprogressive.com/author/unai-montes-irueste/page/2/

In April, Newsom announced a one-time, $75-million fund for undocumented adults who are not eligible for other forms of government assistance, such an unemployment benefits and federal stimulus checks. A qualifying undocumented adult can receive $500, with a maximum of $1,000 per household.

Since the announcement was made, many undocumented immigrants have been waiting for information to apply as soon as the application period opened.

California has more than two million undocumented immigrants. Nearly one in ten workers is undocumented.

With the funds spread among so many people, most families will not receive the funding. Applications are approved on a first-come, first-served basis, until the money runs out.

“In the best case scenario, these funds would reach one in 10 people,” said Unai Montes-Irueste, director of communications with United Ways of California.

[….]

Montes-Irueste of United Ways of California — which has helped undocumented immigrants without bank accounts during the pandemic — said it is important for people to know where to get help and avoid being scammed.

Called the Disaster Relief Assistance for Immigrants Project, the $75 million in state funding will be distributed to 12 organizations throughout California.

More here.

See the list of who is passing out the taxpayer dollars. Catholic Charities and Jewish Family Services are on the list.  I’m guessing they get to keep a cut for their ‘administrative’ costs.

Update!  Don’t miss Montgomery County, MD being sued for handing out money to illegal aliens.

  1. I sent an email to Fraudscrooks a few weeks ago reporting a new bill concerning Health Workforce Resilience Act.

It is BOTH SIDES sides bringing IMMENSE HARM to this nation!

Health Workforce Resilience Act (introduced by Sen. Richard J. Durbin (D-Ill), Sen. David Perdue (R-Ga.), Todd Young (R-Ind), and Chris Coons (D-Del.) over a week ago. The bill would authorize up to 25,000 immigrant visas to go to foreign nurses and up to 15,000 for doctors who are eligible to come to the United States or who are already here on temporary work visas. These immigrant visas would lead to employment-based green cards. The legislation would also allow U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services to give out slots from a pool of previously unclaimed green cards for the families of these medical workers.

Every year, 160,000 employment-based green cards are slate to be given out, but now all the slots get filled. The ones that do not get used get taken off the table for that year. That has let to an accumulation of about 200,000 such unused green cards over the last three decades. Under the legislation introduced over a week ago, the government would be allowed to recapture around 40,000 of those visas.

If the Association of American Medical Colleges is correct, there are more than 10,000 medical residents already in the country on non-immigrant J-1 visas and H-1B visas.
This bill would expedite the permanent importation of foreign health care professions, apparently to take the jobs of the tens of thousands of American Health Care Professionals who have been laid off or furloughed during the pandemic.

Add in the unfortunate President’s executive order where he did not live up to his tweet. His executive order excludes temporary foreign workers, including the massive H-1B and H-2B categories. The hospitality and foodservice industries are being decimated by the COVID-19 lockdown and it makes absolutely no sense to allow businesses to continue to import seasonal labor using the H-2B program.
The President’s executive order to pause immigration to the United States, while a positive step, did not go as far as it needed to.

  2. I am just glad I had enough sense to leave California when I did.

  3. Times are changing so quickly it seems and nothing makes sense anymore.

The US Senate yesterday voted – by a single vote – to allow government agencies like the FBI and CIA to access your browsing history without a warrant.
This means they would not need to show probable cause for believing you have committed a crime before requiring your ISP to hand over its records on your web browsing and search histories. (May 14, 202)

  4. Interesting that they’re specifically targeting illegals. I wonder how many legal aliens won’t get anything at all because of the razor-focus on illegals–and how many illegals will be able to scam multiple chunks because there are 12 different VOLAGS doling it all out. And that’s really a perfect photo of the execrable Senor Montes-Irueste: downright creepy, with a truly evil smile…

    1. And, that is a photo he apparently likes as it was posted by him.
